utorrent seeding question,
« on: May 08, 2013, 01:54:39 AM »
If the files I want to seed are not in the download folder, how do I seed them.

Unless I recopy them back to the same folder,is their any other way?
If I use "force recheck" It will check the folder it was downloaded to.
Not where it actually is.

I also don't have the torrent file anymore so I can't select a new download location.
Unless I am missing something you can't change the location when seeding, correct?

Any help,I need to see back and can't download.

Also how do the seeding points work here?
How many points count for 1gb?

I remember over on a site like this one.
I seeded for 250 hours and only had 8gb uploaded.
Their was too many seeders and thus almost never had seeding time.

The thing that helped was that I got points for every hour I seeded. So sfter seeding for 500 hours I get 10gb upload.
Is the points system similar to this?

How to re-seed.

This post may also be helpful.

You can relocate files by removing and re-adding the torrent file, or by using the relocate function in your client. You can also move your files with your client (unless you're using something very low on features like Transmission), so you don't have to point the client at the new location after. Generally, it's easiest to keep the original file and folder names when reseeding, but uTorrent can relocate individual files with changed names.

You can redownload the torrent file as many times as you want. You just won't be able to download anything in the torrent itself.

And for bonus points, click the little "Use" link next to your points count on the main site. You will see a list of options for trading points for upload credit. You can only earn bonus points while seeding specific torrents, and torrents that are eligible may switch back and forth between eligible and ineligible.

What is the evaluation?
As long as my seed/down ratio goes up I am good?

The torrents don't seem to be seeding at all.

Yes, that's right. Be patient. Supply is typically a lot higher than demand around here.

Left all my torrents seeding-12 hours, but only seeded like 100mb.
I have around 400kbs up.

Just a suggestion, you should try having all torrents be eligible for seeding bonus points.
Then modify points somewhat.

That way If you know someone has been trying to seed, you can give points for every hour they seed.
At this rate I might not be able to download anytime soon.

Example:
Over on another site,I seeded for 281 hours seeding.
Out of those seeding hours,I only uploaded 9.74gb of 17.96gb.

I have 281 points.
100 points is 1gb seeding.
500 is 10gb seeding.

Now in 2 weeks or so I can get 10gb upload credit.

The reason they implemented bonus points here wasn't to get people to seed in general, but to ensure that weak torrents got attention. Thus no general bonus, as that would be contra-productive for that purpose.
Instead they have a super-low ratio requirement, way lower than any other site I know.

So the bonus torrents/points are only for the ones needing of seeding?
Makes sense.

Over on the other site they enforce a 1.00 or above.
The points help over their.

Here it seems I can get a 0.5 and be in the clear?

side note: Can you recommend any other private trackers for music/videos.
If you cannot or it is against the site rules, then I am sorry.

It's even way lower than that, but don't aim low just because of that. A decent ratio feels good for the soul  :D

IIRC, warning threshold on BakaBT is ~0.1.

I will keep seeding for a while.
Still need to seed the rest from here and another site.

I might get the rockman.exe EPs later.

Also can someone make request?

Making recommendations to other trackers is allowed. However, linking to sites with blacklisted material is not. For example, I can mention The Pirate Bay, but I'm not allowed to link to it because it has a lot of stuff that is not allowed here.

On ratio, it helps to have a lot of stuff seeding. Leechers will come and go on different torrents, so the more torrents you have, the more likely and more often you will run into one.

As for making requests, if you have to make one, about 95% of the time you either haven't searched properly or you're looking for blacklisted material, and for most of the remaining 5% you will be repeating someone else's request. But yes, there is a board for requests.

hmm I checked and it has not been mentioned before.

It is specifically rockman.exe stream. Which some say is cursed and will never be done subbing lmao
One site has up to 25,which is half way. The rest are not subbed.
Watching half the season seems weird.

I doubt it is licensed since axxess and beast are also on here.

It also seems like too much trouble since I am not sure where to get the EPs subbed.

Well, if it's not subbed, then this place is not really the place to request it.

Yeah I guess it would not work.

Have you ever tried watching an anime without understanding most of it?

I mean I've seen the episode guides and I get a rough idea of what is going on.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_MegaMan_NT_Warrior_episodes_(Stream)

I know that this series won't get subbed in the next 2-3 years or ever.
Might resort to reading the EP guides and watching it RAW -_-

Yes, I've finished a few unsubbed series raw, and I'm buying and watching some Japanese BD and DVD raw; things I love, like Tamayura.
I'm also studying Japanese to get better at it, with a native speaker as a teacher. It's fun and worth trying  :D

Ahh I think he/she means about the bonus points on certain torrents.
Or seeding in general.
