TV Shows as Anime
« on: May 10, 2013, 01:25:49 AM »
In the forum's opinion, what Western (USA, Britain, etc) tv series would work well as anime?

If they followed the comic books instead of the horrid TV show, I'd say The Walking Dead. (and I mean no connection to the TV show... Keep the suspense and grittiness of the comic book.)

I wonder if Dexter would work.

It'd probably feel similar to Monster.

Avatar: The Last Airbender. That's about the only show I can think of that would even remotely work as an anime. Western and Japanese cultures are simply too different and don't meld well, in my opinion.

...and out pops High School of the Dead :P

I too thought about Dexter. Maybe like Death Note since it is a "killer" outwitting his opponents.

They would of course need to adapt it to the corresponding culture.

Game of Thrones of course.

Person of Interest could be very cool as an anime. Psycho-Pass sort of comes into mind.

Of course, Supernatural, but on a more grand level. I know it's been made an anime, but it never felt like they were trying to make more than one season.

Arrow could certainly also make a good anime. Hmm, Nikita also. For some reason I keep mentioning CW shows. ;D

No, please don't turn my beloved Song of Ice and Fire into something similar to Sword Art Online :(
