I need anime recommendations
armitron:
I need recommendations. I'm looking for anime series with endings. I don't care how many episodes there are, as long as the series has ended and I don't have to wait for the conclusion. Here is a list of anime that I've seen. I'm OK with any category as long as its serious, no slice of life or comedy. Basically serious anime and I don't mind if it has comedy bits and pieces like Yu Yu Hakusho
Baccano
Basilisk
Berserk
Black Lagoon
Book of Bantorra
Bounen no Xamd
Burst Angel
Casshern Sins
Claymore
Code Geass
Cowboy Bebop
Darker than Black season 1 and 2
Death Note
Devil May Cry
Ergo Proxy
Eureka 7
Fate Stay Night
Full Metal Alchemist
Gankutsuou
Gilgamesh
Gundam 00
Gundam SEED
Gundam Wing
Gungrave
Gunparade March
Hakkenden
Haruhi Suzumiya
Hellsing
Last Exile
Le Chevalier D'Eon
Legend of Galactic Heroes
Lodoss War
Macross F

Ozzaharwood:
Gungrave - By the same dude who did Trigun
Shakugan no Shana - One of my favourite series, a bit over the top but fun to watch
Fate/Zero - Prequel to Fate/Stay, and IMO the better series
Durarara - Modern day Baccano
Serial Experiments Lain - Similar experimental feel as Ergo Proxy
Full Metal Panic - One of the best mecha anime out there
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - A must watch; steam-punk type feel
Kara no Kyoukai - Very dark, serious set of movies
Eve no Jikan - Robots, 'nuff said
Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom - Similar to Darker Than Black, a guy works for a underground crime syndicate
Evangelion - Retard MC, but one of the only series where it actually works. Also a must watch.
Planetes - Realistic representation of space travel in the future, really good series
Psycho Pass - A new, futuristic detective series with lots of twists and also very dark
Steins;Gate - First half starts out light hearted, but gets serious in the second half. Deals with physics and science.

Pope_Cerebus:
FLCL - Has a lot of comedy, but also has a very good and serious coming-of-age story underlying everything.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - Action/intrigue/philosophical - One of the best series ever.
Witch Hunter Robin - Good-guy witches hunt bad-guy witches. Modern day setting.
1000mAh:

Macross Frontier - http://myanimelist.net/anime/3572/Macross_Frontier
Narutaru - http://myanimelist.net/anime/838/Narutaru:_Mukuro_Naru_Hoshi_ Tama_Taru_Ko
RahXephon - http://myanimelist.net/anime/165/RahXephon
SaiKano - http://myanimelist.net/anime/529/Saikano
dunno how well that suits our needs >_> but all of them have a bit more serious tone and less comedy, the story goes forward in the episodes and are good.
I'm more of a Slice of Life/romance/comedy person myself, so, I could have given you MANY tittles for those genres XD
