It's generally accepted by all nations not to mess with another country's diplomats. If the USA did it to Snowden, other countries could easily do the same thing to US diplomats stationed there.

It's kinda similar to Assange being stuck in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London. The English threatened to go into that embassy, but realized the repercussions to British embassies in other countries.

Again, the US could still choose to disregard that, but it would set a very bad precedent from a diplomatic standpoint.

The US already set a lot of bad precedent, what do you think was happening during the Bush administration? Unilateral attack, etc. Even on Obama administration they forced down a Presidential plane, don't tell me that a President aren't a diplomat.

They aren't, they only get the same rights while in a foreign country.

I find it funny how germany is currently doing a 180 on treatment of the US. We're lucky that our minister of economy is competent enough not to reject the trade treaty due to this scandal though.

Sure because Al-qaeida in form of an organization is actually existing. AFAIK the US also claims the hisbollah(militia of lebanon) are terrorists. Oh and the all so dangerous german nazis, after all we share top surveillance positions with china

Regardless I don't Al Qaeda killing Americans on American soil on a daily basis. Although with other shit going on like school shootings I can almost understand why US government feels it needs to keep an eye on it's own lunatics.
