Wow, it means it really is Obama personally going full retard and not some incompetent underlings. Why the fuck is he doing that? Does he want his party to lose next elections or what? Doesn't he realize that Snowdon is seen as a hero by the population?

Well if anyone ought to know, it should be you. He comes from planet Burk. Maybe he thinks he's a Dragon Rider of Berk Burk

That or he thinks Moscow is a suburb of Chicago, and he can Chi-town style hardball politics with them; by withhpolding foreign aid or something.

Why? He wasn't president until 2009.

Because that's when the PRISM program was started. Give credit to who it's due.

Of course, Obama isn't really doing much to make himself look any better, given that he's perfectly fine with it, and even justifies going further. I don't know why he's doing that, but he probably figures he hasn't got anything to lose now that he has gotten himself firmly into his luxurious seat in the White House again.

And as said by others, it's not exactly anything new. The US Government loves this stuff so much, it's become an addiction.

Is this another leak? Looks like I give the right thread title for this, it seems this could be a long thread. So much for privacy.

@Jaybug: I would go way back right before Reagan.

If you really want to do more good than harm, go back to before J. Edgar Hoover became the first FBI director.
Without the Afgan wars, there won't be an Al-Qaeda. And the Soviet is probably going to be the target of the terrorism if there is one. And there's lots of bonuses from it, No Hungry Capitalist. No Global Warming. No Corporate Lobbyist. No Microsoft. No Apple. No Google. ETC ;D

If i were him, I'd just make a small truecrypt container and put my txt messages in there, then send it off as an attachment. or something.

Not really. you could just copy the container as many times as you want and stick new messages in there, that way you won't have to go through the creation process for every email.

He could create separate containers with different keys/passwords for every contact he corresponds with.

Burk, is this your planet?

hmmm?

Snowden should just send open letters to the world right now. There is nothing he can possibly say to anyone on the planet with any hope of privacy and security. Just phone the White House every time he needs to take a shit.

Finally an article worth reading for. I found a very long article from that site and you guys should read this ten page long article about what she's experienced.
How Laura Poitras Helped Snowden Spill His Secrets
Quote
“Assume that your adversary is capable of a trillion guesses per second,” the stranger wrote.
This would make all my password so far seems useless.

I can't wait for a film about Snowden.
