Increasing D:U Ratio
Southrop:
uTorrent has a relocate function that you can use to select different file locations for each of the files in a torrent. It doesn't even matter if the files have been renamed, as long as they are not modified.

You can test it yourself, you know, as I have done, myself; simply run many connections simultaneously. I used to have to do so when downloading stuff via HTTP from the BRTURBO server farm, for example, as many as 150 separate downloads using 4 connections each simultaneously; it's not just BitTorrent that's affected. This will, of course, generate the largest amount possible of TCP/IP overhead, including ACK packets.
When you do this, you'll find that flooding your up pipe causes a VERY significant falloff in download speeds, but throttling the down pipe causes no corresponding change in the up pipe. Ergo - as makes sense - throttling your downloads does little, beyond preserving bandwidth for other network use. Your downloads are self-limiting; if you "go too fast", they simply...won't go that fast. Think of it this way: You're essentially saying "My downloads are going too fast; they're going to slow down my downloads!".

What I'm saying is that ACKs work both ways. When you download stuff, you send ACKs. When you seed stuff, you receive ACKs. Max your upload speed and your ACK sending will suffer. Max your download speed and your ACK receiving will suffer.
It's usually far easier to max your upload speed than your download speed, but it is still possible to do either, especially on a site like BakaBT where leeching a few torrents with tons of seeders on each one can easily max that down pipe.

Sorry Plex is http://www.plexapp.com/ I rename al lthe files and move them to specific folders so I can access them via a media player anywhere in full HD.
because I watch most of what I download at work.
I download while I sleep and only remove the files from uTorrent when I am ready to plex them.

Sorry, sailor. You can't do that.
I do the same thing that you do. You're going to have to live with the double disk space hit. Either that or deal with the frustration of trying to get Plex to make sense of stuff in your download directories. I can guarantee you that that path will lead you to madness.
Big, fat 3TB drives are getting pretty cheap. It might be a good idea if you pick up a good network attached storage device and a big drive. You can PM me to take this discussion offline if you want.
