Looking for anime along lines of "Shiki" and "Another"
reaper517:
Sup guys? I just recently finished watching "Shiki" and Also finished "Another" within the past couple days. Needless to say I frickin love them, I thought they were really good. So I'm asking if anybody has any anime along the lines/similarity/genre of those two shows because I really enjoyed both series. I'm NOT looking for any fan service or boob based goofy stuff were it's more of a joke than serious like High School of the Dead (though it was pretty sweet; and I'll still watch it if it has some ecchi moments and/or jokes, I'm just not looking for something made around being a fan service is all). Also if at all possible I'm looking for recommendations of newer anime in this area (doesn't have to be brand spanking new) but I'm still open to watching older stuff too! Thanks for the help peoples! Also note that I've already seen Black Blood Brothers and Trinity Blood (both of which I enjoyed a lot).
Al_Sleeper:
Witch Hunter Robin
Vampire Princess Miyu
Triltaison:
Ghost Hunt was based on a series of novels written by the same person as Shiki. It's about a group of paranormal investigators and the creepy stuff they encounter.
Higurashi no Naku koro ni has a similar vibe to Another. Something weird is going on in town that everyone but the main character seems to know about, but no one will talk to him about it even though people are dying.

These are the main two I came here to suggest. Some others OP may enjoy:
For horror:
Devil Lady
Nightwalker
For psychologicial/thriller:
Boogiepop Phantom
Monster
Perfect Blue
Serial Experiments Lain
For some of both:
The Skull Man
Tiffanys:
Hellsing
Dance in the Vampire Bund
If you don't mind watching a series that's 90% boring you could try Blood+ (~50 episode series with ~46 of them being a total snore). There's also Blood-C (12 episodes) and various OVA's.
Oh and if you want a non-anime movie you could try 30 Days of Night. There's actually like 3 or 4 movies in that series though other than the first they've been direct to DVD. Let Me In (2010) is a pretty decent flick too that you've probably never heard of. I won't bother listing something like Dracula, Blade, or John Carpenter or something. I'm sure you've probably already seen those.
Oh and uh... try out the True Blood TV series.
