--- Quote from: Nikkoru on July 15, 2013, 07:53:50 PM ---Speaking as someone who's known diagnosed sociopaths, I wouldn't describe Tiffanys thus.

Sociopaths, despite of the consensus here, actually do have problems living normal lives, as they lack the capacity to observe structure and retain attention on what's in front of them.  This is why many famous sociopaths have been on ADHD medication as children. They also have massive impulse control issues, which are problematical in general. A sociopath would be among the worst people in the world to handle money well or work in a technically complicated field.

I'm not sure about technical fields being the wrong place. I've worked with a programmer who fit that profile. He did well if he understood the desired end result and you stood out of his way. And didn't distract him. And made sure to recognize his talent. And remembered to always listen when he had something to say. He's a great coder. Not so much a system architect, but man, he sure could make his chunk dance.

lol read the 3rd one...

As long as no one goes non sequitur for too long I think we're good.

I still don't think 'sociopath' is right term.

Sometimes I feel like more than half of the threads here should be locked because of that rule. Meh. I don't mind off-topicness. I do kinda miss psyren though.

Tiffanys:
Yes, I don't agree with the sociopath term either. It tends to imply being anti-social and bad with people.
