Also all this new sugar substitute inhibits your body's ability to know that you are full. So you eat more.

They taught us the European stuff in culinary school. Have 7 course meals, take about one and a half hours, the portions are small, and walla, lose weight! UNless you are having dinner with Andre lol

Man I fucking gobble down food like a fiend and I never put fat on my body. People get fat because they are lazy and they eat terrible shit like sugars and carbs and wheat all day. I haven't touched chocolate, biscuits, chips, soft drink, fruit juice, pies or any fast food in 5 years.

The most baffling thing is that people don't do anything when they get chunky. They just let themselves decline into a big, fat, disgusting, flabby, sweaty, putrid mass of lard and don't amend their ways.

It's not just high fructos corn syrup, or even all the hydrogenated shit. A lot of foods we eat don't even have the chemicals in them that trigger a full response. That's why you can eat certain kinds of chips non-stop and never feel like they made a dent but on the other hand if you try a chip like a frito you get full really quickly.

Then get a bike and burn the calories.

lol bikes... only sissies ride bikes! You'd be better off doing cardio. San Shou is a pretty high cardio thing that is fun to practice. Tameshigiri is fun too. Oh, and swimming.

I've never had weight problems though. I have the metabolism of a hummingbird. The only place it ever even freakin' goes is my tits n ass. Doesn't even touch my stomach LOL... it's a conspiracy I tell ya!

Eating fast is why Americans are fat. Europeans statistically take the time to enjoy their food more often, or something.

Sounds like some science yo.

Or just broscience.

Well, if you eat slower your mind registers that there's food in your stomach and triggers a response telling you that you aren't hungry anymore so the slower you eat the more full you'll be with the less you eat.

Eating normally also works.

If you eat quickly your mind doesn't register that you have food so it keeps telling you that you're hungry and before you know it you eat too much.
Wrong. You can eat more if you eat slower because your stomach keeps stretching little by little and the food has time to settle in.

Because we can!

It seems we are talking about different things. You're talking about the feeling of satiety while I'm talking about the physical capability. Didn't spend time reading your later posts in that quote.

For some reason the subject also seems to lack meta-analysis. And most of the studies are done on just a few women. There were some better studies done in Japan though, I quess it's more of a real issue there. Though they let the people themselves define what fast and slow eating is. Didn't go deeper than google scholar though.

Then get a bike and burn the calories.

Just to add my opinion: if you wolf down food, you will eat more than you stomach can handle, causing it to stretch. However, if you eat slowly and stop when your body tells you to stop, then the stomach won't stretch substantially. Now the initial stretching won#t do anything bad to you (you won't be able to notice a difference if it happens once), but if it stretches repeatedly it'll trigger the replication of the tissue that composes the stomach, which in turn leads to a larger stomach, so that it won't stretch anymore. A larger stomach will mean it'll need more food to fill up, and people that continue wolfing down food will expand quickly in the horizontal plane.

However that doesn't mean that just eating slowly solves the problem. If you eat slowly, to the point of feeling like you burst, it'll have the same effect as if you'd wolfed down all that food.

Anyway, it isn#t guaranteed that you'll grow fat if you wolf it down, it just increases the risk of obesity. There're also people with a genetic disposition that prevents storing their excess carbohydrates in fats. This is just one example of influences that aren't considered by most tests. Anyway, that should be Tiffanys field of expertise^^

Not really. I do longevity research. That's kinda like expecting a nuclear physicist to be an expert in astrophysics or computational physics. I've got the basics but that's about it. Once upon a time I worked at Pfizer, but lol... Oh I actually made something about that awhile back, lemme find it...

I only knew that you were in the genetics field, I didn't know of the focus on longevity.
