Martial Arts/Fuedal Era ENG Dubs
« on: June 26, 2013, 11:00:14 PM »
Mmk folks i love kung fu movies and would love to see them in anime form which is why i'm asking for your suggestions here is a list to follow :

-Characters don't matter just want the setting of a feudal era martial arts type thing
-Plot doesn't matter look at the first point as to the reason why
-Episode length doesn't matter just want a martial arts or fuedal era anime to watch.

In Summary : The only thing that matters to me is the setting of a martial arts OR feudal era, if it has both awesome if not, kool...thanks for the help and look forward to the suggestions :)

Oh and i'd love for it to be English but i'll definitely be discerning about non eng animes as well but english is a must for me.. thank you all :)

I'm pretty sure that everything released by exiled-destiny is dual audio, and goin through their releases list I spotted a few that match your request:
Hakuoki
Himawari
Ikkitousen
Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple
Koihime Musou
Moribito Guardian of the Spirit
Peacemaker Kurogane
Samurai Champloo
Tenjho Tenge

and didnt see it on E-D's list, but Rurouni Kenshin and Samurai X definitely fit

Ikkitousen, Moribito, and Samurai Champloo are good  picks though. (Moribito is a little slow action wise but worth it imo)

I would not recommend Peacemaker based on what the OP is asking for unless he wants to sit through 26 episodes for only a few episodes of action.

Some more I would recommend:
Baki the Grappler
Dragon Ball (had some good martial arts before all the ki and powering up was involved)
Fist of the North Star (over the top though in it's violence/attacks if that's okay, and only the 36 eps or so are dubbed)
Ichi the Killer: Episode 0
Shootfighter Tekken
Street Fighter II V, II the Movie
Tsukikage Ran: Carried by the Wind

Don't know about the quality of the dubs, but:

-Ninja Scroll: The movie. Don't know about the series.
-Ranma 1/2 : Romantic comedy series with lots of ridiculous martial arts battles with unique special techniques, if you're into the sort of kung fu movies that make fun of themselves while embracing the genre wholeheartedly.
-Shigurui

+1 to Dragon Ball, Fist of the North Star, Rurouni Kenshin, and Samurai Champloo.

-ranma the entire series and ova.

I found a couple of others but i didn't find peacekeeper on baka but i will look on other anime sources for it. if theres anymore keep em coming i'm trying to refresh myself on anime and get away from all the gunplay/mafia ones so thanks yall :)

Claymore - feudal era and mostly combat with very large claymores... lol, thus the name.
Berserk - feudal era and mostly sword combat
Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Girls - feudal era and has martial arts and there's a second season coming very soon
Naruto - feudal era and has martial arts, largely ninja stuff
Naruto Shippūden - feudal era and has martial arts, largely ninja stuff
Bleach - has martial arts and mostly combat with katanas; the shinigami world is feudal and large portions of the show take place there
Gintama - feudal era and has martial arts, mostly katana combat; largely a comedy, I didn't much care for it but it's a pretty popular show
Break Blade - post apocalyptic and technological but also feudal
Mai-Otome - post apocalyptic and technological but also feudal

Also as a tip, most shows that have English dubs are licensed which makes them blacklisted here and you won't find them on BBT. You'll need a private tracker for that. You might try applying somewhere like AnimeByt.es.
