Damn I thought Speed Racer was an American cartoon :-\
Guess that makes 6 ranked 6

On the contrary, Speed Racer/MachGoGo is Tatsunoko Production's flagship anime. It is one of the most famous pieces of animation, period. You are to mention it in the same sentence as American cartoons, such as Looney Tunes and Mickey Mouse.
That's how famous it is. The entire planet knows MachGoGo.
For anime fans who do not what Tatsunoko Productions is, they literally founded modern anime as you know it. Many anime cliches started with this company, especially the Terrible Trio cliche from Yatterman, which to Americans, is best known by Pokemon's "Team Rocket." Although Pokemon is not a Tatsunoko show, Jessie, James, and Meowth are a homage and parody of Yatterman's Doronjo, Boyacki, and Tonzura.
Tatsunoko was a very influential anime company. If you are a fan of anime, watching any of their superhero shows from the 1960s and 1970s is essential, especially Gatchaman, whose first 2 seasons are available on BakaBT. The 3rd season is being subbed over at Skaro via Vortex Fansubs.

That obviously means I don't live on earth. I've got no fondness for stuff predating 1995 excepted some Ghibli movies and Akira. No matter how influential or historically relevant, it just didn't age well.

Oh! It is!! Then that's the only one of this era that I liked. Oh! And I watched the french dub of it... It kinda made more sense as it was in France. Oh, BTW, it was one of the best dubs I ever experienced.
