Hehe I just came here to suggest the very same since ye it actualy is an intellectual male lead character anime I just realized.

World that God Only Knows is probobly a good rec. There is a difference though between intellectual anime and an intellectual lead. GITS Lain and such the first rec gave you fits more of the intellectual anime. Saying super brainy intellectual made me think you wanted some thing to make you think more than just an intelligent lead.
