Anime Organizer able to read entire hdds
(1/1)
HFIRE:
Greetings,
I have around 30 tb hdd space (internal and external as well) almost filled with anime / manga / hentai games and my undub collections . After lots of vuze installs where i stopped caring about reloading the previous torrents , the latest one in win 8 harbors around 2k torrents (the most being inactive). However , sometimes the search function that it includes fails to properly find certain anime (either due to the different titles than my input, description, commas and other punctuation marks included, different character sets a.s.o.) , not to mention the older ones that were downloaded before the latest install .
I am in need of a good ANIME MANAGER RECOMMENDATION . Back in the days where i used to burn the anime to dvds , i used "whereisit", and while it was decent, it didn't relay a simple structure like the one i dream of that can compile my entire hdd collection , update/refresh it upon request and let me know exactly what i have or not. Since more hdds have the same anime but in different qualities (i seriously hunt the bluray versions, but they're not all "there" yet), i am also interested in only keeping the "best" copy between several versions. To that extent, i find the grades and recommendations in the bakabt community very handy and trustworthy even if they don't always include all the bluray versions of a certain anime (there are size limitations,i recon).
Thank you for listening to my ramble, please offer some advice if you have a good manager in mind.
Safe winds and God bless you all !
Horace

I would suggest that since you have a very large amount of data. This might help. (though setting up and scanning all the HDD might take a day or two, but is worth it)

Thank you very much, looks like a lot of new stuff to learn and that's always a good thing :)
My only question is , since your collection is online , is it tracked by copyright infringement authorities? I know the regulations differ in every country and i'm more than sure they don't apply where i live but it is a matter to keep under consideration.
On that note, there's a client-based service, the desktop application, i recon you manually make modifications in order to check what you've seen and what not and it still categorizes everything neatly for you?
Let's get busy! O genki de!

It's not online with JMM, it's stored in a mysql database locally on your PC. As for anyone tracking you, there's no way they can know whether you purchased it or not and most people don't really care about anime.
If you just want something to find your anime you might try MyAnimeList's MALUpdater. It searches your HDD for it when you click play I think. Dunno how long that'd take with 30TB though.

I'm deeply grateful for your suggestions and insight into the matter. As for the time involved, the pc rarely sleeps so that's not an issue.
Have a good night , friends!
p.s. if these two proggies clear the confusion bubble around what i have or don't have in terms of anime , i'm only left with manga, games, hentai , console games to organize. Yupi! :)
