You should try out historical anime, such as Katanagatari, Miyamoto Musashi: Dream of the Last Samurai, Shura No Toki, etc, etc. All historical animes involve real-life people used to be reat warriors, sch as Miyamoto Musashi, the undefeated nito ryuu samurai. ;)
