It isn't childish, it is tagged seinen for a reason, also it is the same writer as the one of (bake)monogatari series, so if you liked that show I'm pretty sure you will like katanagatari too ;)

What you are looking for is Holyland, I doubt you will be able to find any better suggestion than this, since it fits your request pretty much perfectly. Scratch that, it is exactly what you are requesting. Even if you don't normally read manga, you will wanna do it for this one. The mangaka Mori Kouji have been studying a lot of street fight, material art, and participated in street fight to make it as realistic as possible.

Slightly off-topic
What kind of training/material art are you doing?

I wish Holyland was an anime. I see it's only manga. :(

BTW, nobody answered my question earlier. Which anime is that video???

Damn, maybe I should give it more consideration, just the "xyx style" thing annoys me, seen it used too often.

Well, I'm taking your word for it now, I'm gonna have a bash at reading it, the only trouble with manga/comics is that I tend to read it too much like a book, so I read the text and turn the page not paying attention to the actual drawings (I'm a fast reader).

I'll pm you about it I'm not really all that sure I should openly discuss it. Or at least I don't think it would be appropriate in this section of the forum.
