Is there a way...?

Hi,
Soldado recently ripped Loveless in a better quality with subs. For which I am really grateful. But that aside, I rather prefer Aarinfantasy subs. So here is my question:
Is there a way for me to combine Soldados rip with Aarinfantasy's subs?
Following points, I assume will be essential when answering this SOS call;
1 - While not a complete idiot, I am in no way, shape or form a techi. What I mean by that is, I can follow instructions rather ok, but I am not very knowledgeable in computer related issues.
2 - Soldado's rips are mkv's (704x480; total bitrate 1390); Aarinfantasy is avi (640x360; total bitrate 1007) - Btw, I have no clue if this info is needed but off the top of my head it seemed a reasonable assumption.
Unless Aarinfantasy is bored out of her skull and has nothing better to do and decides to re-do Loveless 720p then this is my only hope. So any help is greatly appreciated.

You'll need to OCR the subs.

Bitrates and stuff are not important. Your main hurdle is that Aarinfantasy is hardsubbed, so you have to get those subs elsewhere, OCR them, or type them in from scratch (tedious work, I've done such work for a handful eps and it's really boring...)

Then your desired text has to be applied to the current softsub, which is mostly a matter of timing. If subs are "sliced" roughly the same way, you can just replace the text for lines in the existing script.

All in all a lot of work...
