Need help finding new anime?
« on: July 22, 2013, 04:44:21 AM »
http://myanimelist.net/animelist/Omarbeans

Looking for something post 2000.
I have few criteria, something I haven't seen,
that is something I have to see because of how good it is,
and something with continuous plot that is interesting,
something that makes me want to keep watching.

Not really into 100+ episode anime, ecchi with no plot, episodic, repetitive, boring slice of life

Looking for something with nice twists, exciting/interesting story.
I enjoy intellectual type anime as well, but not super LSD stuff like Lain. More so ideological/philosophical stuff like Code Geass.

Wow you guys really hit it on the nail! At least 50% of the recommendations were things I seemed interested in, thanks! I have plenty to watch now.

You really need to watch Mawaru Penguindrum. It's very intelligent, has a lot of hidden messages (remember how in literature class your teacher would ask you what's the meaning of the blue carpet? This show has hidden messages in everything). It is sad at times though, and could be considered too "LSD".

Cross Game

These shows are great, not sure if Cross Game is something OP would want though.
I'll add some more:
Fantastic Children
Kaze no Yojimbo
Noir (might seem a little episodic at first but goes more into plot after the first few episodes)
Shiki
