Count of Law-like animes?
« on: July 22, 2013, 09:54:14 PM »
I'd like to ask you to recommend me some court of law-like animes, just like the Nintendo DS famous Ace Attorney: Phoenix Wright games. Can you recommend me some?

So far, I found Dangan Ronpa, but it's a on-going anime.

Thanks!

Didn't hurt to ask. I'll let this open, in case someone knows of any anime of that sort.

Death-Note? I guess that's a bit close to it, since the main character is a police officer. Closest I think are some other detective anime's (which I can't remember right now).

But yeah, pretty hard to find on that category.

Detective anime =/= Court anime

As for the reasons of their total absence, check sankakucomplex. You'll get a pretty good picture of "peculiarities" of Japanese judicial system :P.

Well, there's Judge. It's a supernatural courtroom with a demonic prosecutor and defense attorney, presided over by the demon kings of hell. Not really what you're looking for, but it's the closest I'm aware of.

I do play Ace Attorney games. I finished the 3rd and the 4th. I'm looking for the first two games.

I have seen Death Note, but not the Psycho Pass. May I request a torrent link for it? Thanks!

There are none as far as i'm aware of, those two are just a close approximates. There are some more "investigatory" titles like umineko no naku koro ni (i suggest visual novel), which are more serious and touch the subject, but i'm afraid ace attorney isn't really popular in this media.

true, on anime theres nothing that i know of.
on manga though theres only one that i can remember being heavily court related, M.C. Law.

most of what i've seen are more on detective stories.

Just saw this movie. It was a bit interesting. It was the closest thing in the Ace Attorney game, but in the paranormal elements. It was on the other way through, I mean the central protagonist is this prosecutor, not the defence attorney.

I like this movie. I wish they made this anime a TV series.

If you want anime series about supernatural investigators, prosecutors and executioners in the Edo period setting, check Requiem from the Darkness.

Be warned though, the series is definitely NOT for the faint of heart.

I have already seen this series. ;)

BTW, this series is based on the horror tales. I don't think it involves the prosecutors and the defence attorneys. It's much more on the investigator side. ;)
