Question Regarding the Many Gegege no Kitaro Animes

I know that there are five Gegege no Kitaro animes, starting from the 1960s.

However, there is a recent anime called Hakaba Kitarou, which is on BakaBT.

Are the various Gegege no Kitaro animes not based on the manga, but Hakaba Kitarou is?  Or are they all based on the manga?

The original is the 1960's. The rest of them are considered as remakes and remastered to follow accordingly the manga. There's also a live action movie for this very series.
