It's that Samsung Magician software. Maybe it bugged out. I'm gonna have to uninstall it. Need to move on.

When I did Restore and I stopped Samsung magician and went back to the System folder, it stopped doing these things.

Scientific Method 101: Change one thing at a time and see if the results change each time.

Honestly, not taking sides or anything, but I'm surprised you can so positively place all the blame on Magician, when the restore was far more likely to have reverted a bad driver install and other things that are far more likely to cause BSODs.

It was the Samsung Magician, Kira. Read the post above you. It could have bugged out. You also skipped few important details I listed. It doesn't matter at this point.

Moving on.

Did these mouse driver issues exist before you upgraded to 8.1? That's such an odd issue with Windows 8.1; I don't know what they could have changed to make it such a pain.
dunno, with windows7 i didn't encounter this issue even if i didn't install the driver, the mouse works as intended(including the extra buttons).

I can't seem to find my own thread about headphones. So now I'm going to use this one. As you all know, I plan on getting another high-end headphones. Along with that, I want to get 2 more regular headphones. The high-end can either be closed or opened cans, the other two can be either as well though they must be at about mid-range headphones. I'm looking at a price point of between 30-80 USD per headphone for the mid-range. Both will be used for light work and entertainment - like listening on the Nexus 4/5/7, laptop, PS Vita.

What do you guys suggest?

edit: Knowing how much you love to waste your money though, you might prefer something like this: http://en-us.sennheiser.com/dynamic-headphones-high-end-around-ear-hd-800

Though... I can't see how you could really justify that kind of purchase myself.

I can just put my money in my pocket and keep saving to go to Hawaii instead of blowing such large amounts of money on that. Also, Tiff ... read my previous post!

I'm assuming you're not planning on buying a portable headphone amp for your Vita or portable computer things.

The Superlux HD668B and Superlux HD 661 are nice for the price. Definitely not the best headphones around, but they are a safe choice.
Koss seem to make a lot of decent low-end stuff, and if I wasn't the most broke motherfucka, I'd buy some. That said Koss SportaPro, Koss KSC75, and Koss PortaPro seem to be excellent values. Amazon currently have them for sell, so they're stupidly cheap.
Creative Aurvana Live! (CAL) are some headphones you'll see recommended a lot. They're a bit bassy apparently, but if you're into that kind of thing, they seem like a good value.
Philips SHP2500, too. Well, I don't know really; I've only seen one person talk about them, but still, it might be worth it to check out.

Are you opposed to IEMs? They seem better suited for the Nexus(es) and Vita than headphones.

You can try taking a look at SoundMagic, Fischer Audio, and Brainwavez stuff. I hear the build quality of FA's stuff may be a little questionable, but they seem to offer good sub-$80 IEMs.

As for the high end, what's your max budget for that $300?

You may want to check out some of Sony's offering. Specifically, the Sony MDRMA900 looks good as well as does the Sony MDR-1R. AKG has their Quincy Jones's AKG Q 701 which seem to be good and not like Beats by Dr. Dre at all. They also have the AKG K701 and AKG K702. I pretty sure all three of them sound similar, but you'd have to check the reviews. You're probably familiar with Audio-Technica's ATH-M50 and AD700(X). The AD700X just seems to be a slightly different AD700, so there's that. Beyerdynamic DT-990-Pro seem to be good for the price. Philips are offering their Philips PhiFidelio X1 and Philips L1 for a good price, also. If you want a Sennheiser, check the Sennheiser HD 598. The V-MODA Crossfade M-80 looks pretty.

Hope that helps narrow down the search a bit.

Yea it did. I'm looking at this for the 600 Ohms to replace my Shure SRH840 with it and I want to get a standard one, so the Superlux HD668B seem to be the choice. I already have the cheaper version of it and it sounds good on the outside computer. Thanks.

Those were the earbuds.

Did you look at the more recent posts? Especially the last one you made in that thread?

hey Tatsu, are there any issues you noticed on your Motherboard?
Nope. ROG editions are superb. Specially this one. Great price, awesome features. Don't need anymore than what's inside of this baby.

And it has bleeding red color as long as the motherboard is connected to the PSU (computer on or off doesn't affect it) and the motherboard supports all USBs that need to charge up or use power while it's off - like my fan, phone, tablet, Vita, etc.

I can go on and on and on ...

Oh yea, this thing comes with a two digit number-thing that tells you what is wrong if your computer is not starting. It's much better than trying to figure out if your RAM is dead or HDD/SSD is dead.

I don't know if you already picked out a pair, but I personally own a pair of audio technica m50, and I can say that they are the best pair of headphones I've ever used and cost me only $100 on amazon. From what people have said on head-fi, it seems most agree that these are some of the best headphones you can buy for any price, so if you aren't trying to spend a fortune I would take a look. One of the biggest advantages for your situation in specific is that they are very easy headphones to drive. If you plan on using high impedance headphones you WILL need an amp if you are going to be using them with an android device, as their built in amps are just not very powerful.

Yea I ordered those for on-the-go and for Vita/Phone and what not. The Audio Technica m50 are regarded best pair of head cans for budget. They are not great for med-tones versus high-end head cans like the Shure SRH 840, which I have. This was the biggest decision when I purchased the Shures last year. More detailed discussion goes on through the link.

I think I'm about done with headphone cans. I really want open cans but that shit will bother the hell out of my family. I'd rather not waste extra money on something I may not use a lot.

Also, MKBHD is one awesome guy. When he gets very technical about things like that, I tend to avoid him. I go for the real nerds for details specs.

Time to move on from the M50.
The TAD-500, open back, can really do magic with proper EQ.
Yeah, EQ rocks.

Going to re-build my old case with new gear. I'm looking at a more budget computer. I'll be moving my ... well, one of the GTX 560 Ti SC into that case. The build will be around Haswell's i5 processor and 16GB @ 1600mhz RAM. The case is DH-85 (forgot the name ... ) and it's still one of the best cases on the market .. still expensive, too. I already have the case. I also have the Corsair Enthusiast Gold 750W PSU. So we got 3 things out the way already.

I'm going to go between 300 to 500 USD. This is my back up build which I plan to do almost nothing with but being a side kick. I'm either going with the regular i5 or the i5-K (probably the normal one). CPU fan will also be Noctua NH-D14 120mm & 140mm (may or may not be included in the budget).

For the budget, exclude getting a case, PSU and GPU - I already have those.

you'll have pretty much got only a choice of i5-4430 or a second-hand i5-2500K, your budget is a bit too limited for a i5-4670K and would hit at around $600 with a reasonably good motherboard.

to give you a rough sketch:
i5-K ~ $220
mobo ~ $100
noctua HSF ~ $80
extra fans ~ $20
250GB EVO SSD ~ $180
----------------------------
rough total ~ $600

No need for extra fans. The mobo is ... I saw a really good one for 94 from Gigabyte. I may not get the K edition and go for the normal one.

Will SSD prices go down around Feb-April of 2014?
