Need Help with Seeding After Moving Files Location
« on: August 10, 2013, 03:47:04 AM »
Hi. I just joined BakaBT last week. I am using BitTorrent ver. 7.8.1 for downloading and seeding.
I have once moved the location of a file and it can't be seeded anymore (eg. Local C's User >> Desktop). It is stated "Error: Invalid download state, try resuming" in BitTorrent status bar.
My laptop is almost out of space and I really need to move those files to my extension hard drive. However, doing so, I can longer seed and not be able to meet the ratio requirement.

How should I seed them after relocating the file to my extension hard drive? (Considering plugging in my extension hard drive 24/7 or when I switch on my laptop).

Thanks.
Ian

IIRC, this error occurs if you move the files with the 'Relocate...' command, and then delete original folder.
Use 'Set Download Location' instead of 'Relocate...'.

Option 1:
1. Right-click torrent, relocate or move data or whatever it is. Don't move single files - move all of the data in the torrent.

Option 2:
1. Stop and remove torrent from client.
2. Using Explorer, move all data into a directory on your external (say F:\Downloads).
3. Load the torrent, change download location to the directory you had above (F:\Downloads). Do not descend into the folder in the torrent. Start, and then stop if it doesn't automatically recheck (i.e. if it starts downloading). Force a recheck, then resume it.
