When building... Do you buy Windows?

My only issue when reinstalling an OS is making sure I back-up all my PC game saves.
I wish I could find some kind of 'manager' for them, so they'd be easy to move.

no more like i wish they made their game installation portable, so it can be transferred to another PC.
for games that needed a key, they'll just have to input the key again to reactivate the game.

I don't know, I just copy the entire C:\Users folder and that alone saves me a lot of trouble. Lots of program and game settings are saved there.

Not on Windows Vista or later they don't though, unless they require you to run them as administrator. Or, in other words, UAC popups every time you launch them. There aren't many applications like that, so backing their data up individually in addition to using the Windows easy file transfer tool is pretty straightforward. I still have all my save games, work, settings, and other data from 2009 when I first built my desktop, and I'm not even using the same computer any more.
