Looking for an anime, unsure of the name

As the title suggests, I'm looking for an anime my house mate told me about after I said I liked more fucked up anime than avatar. He said it was called "skyd" but didn't tell me anything about it (hes gone to bed now), I can't seem to find it on here or even google.
Anyone know what anime he might have meant?
Also, whats some good anime?
Heres A few that I like, to give you an idea. Full metal alchemist, Samurai champloo, pet shop of horrors, urotsukidoji, vampire hunter d, hellsing, beserk.
