4K Video + Monitor and Computer Specs
megido-rev.M:
I believe monitors have other functions too. USB ports for instance.
vuzedome:
Oh? TVs mostly have USBs as well. Really love it how you can just plug it in and play your videos without resorting to buying those HDD players.
Fast processor, know how to hard code subs as well as frame interpolation, perfect.
LillyTown:
Can we agree that there's no difference by definition but in common usage?
Even image quality can be a poor basis, a top notch TV will destroy a shitty monitor while some top-of-the-line $6000 Eizo might destroy your cheap Vizio thing you picked up on sale at Walmart.
Gh0st93:
This may not fall under all televisions but most aren't geared towards the ports a lot of monitors use, sure there may be display port and HDMI, but there's normally no DVI or VGA. Also the bezels are different and so are the speakers, etc. Can they be crossed over? Yes, but they are normally built for there specified use.
LillyTown:
Yes, I get that there are certain features that *tend* to show up on models marketed as 'monitors' and vise versa. It seems like everyone is Englishfailing or something. I'm saying there seems to be no *definitive* difference, something that makes something *objectively* a 'computer monitor' or a 'television set' other than how it's marketed.
On that note, I'm tellin' you guys.... projectors are where it's at. 4K projectors will be SOOOO leet. "Ohh... yeah, I watch my Japanese girly-cartoons at about 90" diagonal.... Yeah, I only get them 4K rips with super 10.4 surround sound 'cause I got a new 3PB ramdrive."
