I think he might have fucked up a bit on the fan. I asked him about the Hyper 212, and then talked about mounting and he said mounting this one was actually a lot easier, but we didn't have enough time to look at reviews because the store was practically closing (he looked up reviews for pretty much everything I wanted to for me). I'll see how it works, but if it doesn't I have like a month to return it. It's a 2x minute drive, that's really no problem.

Cute, huh?

Also a quick note MSI mpower series is geared more towards the overclocking community then the gaming community.
For gaming something more like this or this would be ideal, But the mpower will work also. Also for cooling this, this, this, and this would recommended.

That one that you linked actually looks pretty nice, from a cluttering standpoint. So you just attach the fan to the side of the case and then attach the tubes to the CPU? That looks nice, but I wanna see some more options, and I need to know whether that actually works well.

Also, I am planning to do some overclocking with this, and I don't see why gaming and overclocking are gonna be mutually exclusive...? I mean, I'm not gonna half-ass this shit. I've got the money this time. I'll go into water cooling if I need to (but I'd prefer to avoid it...).

Anyhow I'm gonna go assemble this thing... It's a good thing that they provide some thermal paste with this one, because I didn't buy any and one of my sticks is MIA...

Cute, huh?

For all intensive purposes The h100i is the best water cooler atm. The H80i is intended for people that don't want to or can't mount the full 240mm radiator and still want high performance. They will also give you the best temps while overclocking. The air coolers run very well also depending on ambient temps and amount of fans in the case, and they can handle a mild overclock as well.

Now the motherboards, like I said the Mpower line was built with more overclocking in mind, While the G series for gaming. Are they mutuality exclusive to that? No, but things like the heat sinks on the boards and small things. The G65 has a mSata slot on the actual board (probably wouldn't use it.) While the Mpower comes with a second 8pin power connecter (also would never use it.) The G65 has beefier heat sinks on board then then the Mpower, The Mpower also has the built in wifi / Bluetooth ability through a add on.

NH-D14 or phanteks if you don't want water, whichever is available to you.

whats the point? we've already concluded that either of the two are the top dog of the air-HSFs... or wait, theres this new one - http://dvtests.com/?p=13865

Because it's just one image out of more then likely a very lengthy review so if you are going to use it then also give the rest of the info.

Yeah but cpu is it on, what are the ambient temps? Two huge factors when viewing ability to cool.

Okay, everything assembled and I am posting from it. I haven't gotten all of the drivers together, so far everything seems to be working alright, including the WIFI module that I am posting from that I did not even know this had until I unwrapped it. It took a long-ass time to assemble because I had to take out and put the motherboard back in roughly 4-5 times to minor mistakes, but hey whatever.

I still don't have all of my 6-7 hard drives in there. I know that for instance my IDE will not work in it because it does not have an IDE port! <_< Oh damn, my 80 gigs what the fuck will I do without it...

Oh, and the CPU fan sucks, big time. I'll be replacing this thing. It must be replaced. Just give me something easy to mount... By the way I don't think that corsair water thing is going to work because this thing doesn't have regular sized fan slots; they are all big ones.

But the case is absolutely amazing. everything about it screams high quality (at least right now)

Cute, huh?

hmmm, does it really matter that much? i only posted the pic for the fact that it performs great (a long the lines of liquid cooling).
anyway here - http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Phanteks/PH-TC14PE/6.html

microcenter has the H100i, Cooler Master Seidon 240M, Thermaltake Water 2.0 Extreme, and NZXT Kraken X40 140mm Ultra Performance Liquid, but yeah H100i can fit inside the define R4.

edit: the only problem i'd see on using AIOs in Design R4 is the lack of panel intake directly facing the rams and such, without the air-HSF the air circulation around those components decreases substantially.

That depends if he got the windowed version or not if not then he can have a 140mm pushing air onto it and the graphics cards. Plus he can use the fans to blow air down onto the board and the rear 140 for exhaust.

The air shouldn't really be to terribly hot.

Let us also not forget that it's easier to get the warm air to rise, not to fall. Use the top as an outlet and put every other fan in the system as an intake. The CPU will be cool and you won't be keeping your GPU and PSU in an environment where the ambient temperature is >50 degrees whenever you put some load on the machine.

I was just saying that if there was no airflow over the motherboard, And actually quite a few people use the h100i as intake and have very good results. The thing is the fans on the h100i are based off the SP120 so they will do there best pushing air thought a radiator, IU would honestly recommend  getting two noctuas and putting them on top of the rad. and pulling air through it and out of the case. Because some testing I have seen indicates this should give some of the best cooling result. But I personally haven't done any of the testing, so the most through way is just try a couple different fans and placements.

If you want to go cheap, a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo and Corsair's H60 could sustain a (very) light overclock. If you want something more, a Kraken X40 is a great AIO cooler and should fit your needs perfectly.

Anandtech Bench for Temps Over Delta Noise

techPowerUp Bench for Temps Noise 2

FrostyTech Bench for Noise Temps

Guru3D Bench for Temp Noise

HardwareSecrets Bench for Temps and Noise

Overclockers3D Temp

Yeah. Performance can vary significantly depending on your case especially for air coolers, but Kraken X40 is always a good value. And, well, so is the H60 and Hyper 212 Evo if all you're doing is a light overclock.
