Seeding, but not?
« on: September 02, 2013, 05:41:45 PM »
so i'm going on a seeding spree. i'm currently seeding 6 (+1) torrents to work on my ratio. the 6 work, but there is one that says seeding, but in red. when i check which files are active on my account, only the 6 with the green seeding status appear. the red one uploads, seeds, etc. but it does not go to my account. it says "failure, you have been warned..." when i have the file in its entirety and i'm not downloading anything at all. what can i possibly do? i searched around and i've yet to find anything regarding this issue.

from what I can see you are already seeding (you are at least uploading something).

well that's not the issue though. i am seeding, but when i check which torrents are active on my profile, it shows that all but the red torrent are active, which leads me to think that bakabt is not taking that other torrent into account. that torrent is the one with the most leeches, so you can see that it would mean a lot if it happened to work.

Oh, I didn't count the torrent nr, and you didn't have the names in teh screenshot. sorry about not paying attention. since there are no other trackers listed I wonder where the upload goes? If it doesn't improve your ratio at all despite being shown as inactive on the site, try checking wether the files are correct, or redownloading the torrent file and replacing the files created by the tracker with the already completed files. If some of your files are incorrect (incomplete), just prevent the downloading of these.

also isntead of double posting use the edit function

You can't download with a warning.

i thought they were incomplete as well, so i did redownload it, even the files that i didn't download in the first place (anything other than the main episodes) to make it a full torrent, without having to worry about the torrent.part file. once i finished downloading it at such a painfully slow speed, i relocated, rechecked, and updated tracker about 10 times over, and alas, it still gives me this red seeding status. :\

also,
You can't download with a warning.

like i said, i'm not downloading anything DUE to the fact i am trying to build a good ratio in order to download.

Anyway according to BBT statistics you uploaded 10-20 MB in the last 32 minutes which would equate to way less than you are supposedly uploading. I remember reading somewhere that a atorrent is not recognized as "seeding" on BBT while you DL, which would mean you have to try to get the exact same files so that your torrent is viewed as complete by the tracker. I'm not guaranteeing this since I didn't actively try that.

I just tested it out of boredom (talk about students having to work a lot  8) ). If the torrent had been swapped you should've been notified, and still you upload should go towards your ratio. Is your upstream still that large for this torrent (because if you're not connected to peers on the tracker, where does teh upstream go to?)

Edit: I know this question is kinda stupid, since you did everything properly before, but did you force-recheck the files?

yes, like i mentioned, 10+ times relocated, rechecked, and updated trackers.

if you're not connected to peers on the tracker, where does teh upstream go to?

that's what's getting to me. if it IS successfully uploading, why is it not going to my account? this seems like a problem that bakabt staff would potentially have an answer for, because i don't see how any of us can manage to know what's going on in their tracker.

Try to downgrade uTorrent to version 2.2.1
Maybe your problem is not in it, but in any case it would not hurt.
2.2.1 has better seeding capabilities and less bugs.

To be honest, none of these people really have any idea what they're talking about. :P
At least I know what I'm talking about, and my stats prove it  :P

You can not seed incomplete torrents when you're warned.
And Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai seems incomplete, 9.36 GB - size according to your screenshot, and 9.37 GB - according to BakaBT. Some small part is missing  ???
Could you please tell, what the error message in the tracker for this torrent?

Just wait for a staff member to reply. They're kinda lazy, so expect a good 24-36hrs. ;)

yeah i found out the hard way that you can't seed incomplete files, which is why i downloaded the remaining things to be safe. not sure if i have to re-download again or not because without bakabt, it would roughly take me weeks to finish downloading at the seed count outside of bakabt.

also, it just says the "failure, you are warned..." message. i'm gonna try one more thing to see if it works.

EDIT:
aw yiss, success.

after rummaging through, i noticed that one of the files were marked to "skip"
this was probably due to me downloading the remainders and forgetting to mark one of the files back to normal priority.
sorry about the trouble guys, problem solved.
