Don't let the door hit you, this is a last homage to a company that at one time made good phones, not to glass brick computers with an extra call function like that of a phone.

An old school phone was a phone nothing more nothing less of course nothing will beat a simplistic phone that was designed for one function and one function only. Now to say one was faster or more or less steps the one or the other is a mute point. Now if I used an old school phone I would have to unlock it. * button then hit ok as even old school phones would butt dial so most people had keypad lock turned on,  then I would have to dial a 7-10 digit number hit send. Now I have to unlock push phone dial 7-10 digit hit send. So on old school phone , it was 10-13 button press max. New phone its 11-14 max counting waking up the screen.

But to make it even fast on my new phone I could just say call so and so and it will dial and call whoever I want now this solution doesnt work for hand typing numbers but is faster then old school of scrolling through your contact list. Pros and Cons of each way of doing things. One phone could be more superior in its dialing ability based on hard button full digit phone numbers while the other is easy for contact list calling.

I dislike touch interface because if forces me to look at the phone since there is no tactile feedback. I do not have to look at a normal phone to dial it.
Also, since my fingers are kinda big, it is more difficult to press the "touch" button than a real button, because I do not have to line up my finger exactly with the real button to press it (and only it). Oh, and most touch phones do not work with a stylus, that means no precision input (small "buttons" - completely unusable) and the screen is always dirty. Those phones also do not work when I am wearing gloves. Using a touch phone with one hand is also more difficult than using a normal phone.

I have a touch phone (Samsung GT-S5830i) in addition to the E90 - I use the Samsung as a work phone - calling and receiving calls only.

My clamshell Nokia N93 didn't need to be locked. Just close it and the buttons are protected. It also had another great feature - big buttons.

But instead of unlocking the keypad you had to flip it open so still same amount of steps just a different step. And im more thinking the ages of 3310. The n93 is a little more past a basic phone

Garret02:
Nokia 3310 is a great phone. Best one I've had.
