+1, the i-help-you-get-the-guy-you-love-and-you-help-me-get-the-girl-i-love situation, lastly well, watch it!!

-1 On Ore no Imouto. Long story short, the MC picks a good one, then fucks up.
(click to show/hide)He picks one of the 6 girls available, and she's a pretty damn fine choice in terms of personality, probably the best option. But she dumps him because he's not really in love with her, then ends up with his sister, who is the worst choice IMO, not to mention really fucked up when he already has a "childhood friend" who was ready to marry him had he only asked.

Why would you spoil a series in anime recommendations?

--- End quote ---
Because it's a MOE anime, and therefore deserves no respect.

Because in most, it's pretty obvious who he cares for MOST, but he never actually comes out and starts dating them, or chooses them etc. It's always: "I'M GONNA BEAT AROUND THE BUSH BECAUSE I'M A PUSSY WHO NEVER WANTS TO HURT ANYONE EVER. I'LL JUST KEEP LEADING ALL 3-5 OF YOU ALONG BECAUSE I'M DUMB."

Personally never cared for romances where they make it explicitly obvious who "the one" is, but proceeds to spend the entire series acting as if it might be someone else. Not a huge fan of Ai Yori Aoshi and similar stuff because of that.

(click to show/hide)True Tears is also like that.... Ugh. Why even watch a romantic triangle if he throws out everything and just defaults to the first option?

*Painfully deletes Oriemo S2, as he was only on episode 3*

Please don't spoil anime in Recommendations, regardless of your opinion of it.
How would you feel if someone spoiled the shows your watching, like how:
James dies at the end of Zone of the Enders?
The moonrace wins the war in Turn A Gundam?
Kenshin turns back his blade and begins killing again in episode 40?
or that they actually manage to finish off Alucard at the end of Hellsing?
It would probably be less than optimal for you.

PLUS I mean.. Slice of Life and Moe are by far the best categories. It's not even really arguable.
I think the seinen-slice of life-moe anime really takes the cake as the clear winners though.

Also, you're lucky I'm not an ass-hat and just made up those spoilers.
I do hope that just for a few seconds, you actually thought that they were real.

And yes, I realize I'm mostly at fault, for actually READING it, but I never expected the build up point
of the entire series to actually be revealed in a thread recommending it. My mistake I guess. =D

Even if those were actually real spoilers it wouldn't matter. I've lost interest in ZOE Dolores and Turn A Gundam. This is my 2nd watch-through of Kenshin. And I'm waiting on english dubs for Hellsing, which'll be awesome no matter what.

As far as that SoL & MOE argument. I really don't need to get into a flame war about this. We all know that Type A anime don't outsell Type B anime, even though Type A are superior on an intellectual base. Type B on the other hand sells merchandise because it caters to the obsessed no-lifers who just wanna watch cute expressions, bouncing tits, and panty shots. There are also Type C anime which are kinda of like hybrids, but those are usually caused by animation companies being liberal with the source material, shifting the art a bit toward Type B so it'll sell better.

Examples of Type A:
Ghost in the Shell
Cowboy Bebop
Wolf's Rain
Death Note
Casshern Sins
Berserk
Dennou Coil
Planetes
xxxHolic

Examples of Type B:
K-On!
Haruhi
Lucky Star
Girls Bravo
Kiss x Sis
Strike Witches
Basically everything ever made by Kyoto Animation.

Examples of Type C:
The ToAru series (Conversion of characters faces to make them "cuter")
Jormungand (The Breasts)
Now that I think about it, nearly anything that has female fighters or a "Trip to the Beach" episode.

sakurasama:
I too would like to watch an anime where the guy actually chooses someone instead of leading the whole harem around by their nipple rings ;). As for the whole MOE vs intellectual, I tend to be a category A watcher myself, although I have been impressed by some that were a whole lot of titty bouncing and panty flashing, such as HOTD and BTOOM!. As long as there is a strong plot and the drawing doesn't suck, I'll pretty much watch anything that catches my interest.
