Some of my favorites:

OP:

Baccano! - Guns n Roses - Ultra saxxy
Bokurano - Uninstall - What is there to say? At this point it's a classic
Ranma 1/2 - Bokutachi wa kore kara - One of the first anime OP that I liked.
Steins;gate - Hacking to the Gate

ED:

Angel Beats - Brave Song - I'm a big fan of relaxing tracks like this one.
Chuunibyou demo koi ga shitai - Inside Identity
Shingeki no Kyojin - Utsukushiki Zankoku na Sekai - When I first heard this song, all I could think was "Wow".
Fate/zero - Memoria
Robotics;notes - Topology - Simply amazing.
Sword Art Online - Overfly - Pretty much the only reason to watch the fairy dance arc.

BGM:

Shinsekai Yori - Kage no Denshouka Daiichibu - Epic intro track for any situation
Macross Frontier - Northern Cross - Counts as BGM in my book although it's an insert.
Guilty Crown - Bios - The anime may have mixed reviews but this song makes even the most mundane of tasks epic

Yoshimari Makoto is a genius, basically everything he touches turns to gold.
Mostly a fan because of his work on DRRR and Baccano!

Hi all, I was just wondering if I was the only person that actively downloads the OP, ED, and sometimes soundtrack of every single anime that I encounter.
Certainly not! I've been doing this for years and scrobbling everything to Last.fm makes me be even more obsessive about it.

I have almost too many faves to list, but the aforementioned Bubblegum Crisis would definitely top my list. I've always really enjoyed the OP/ED themes of Ranma 1/2 as well as the BGM, which gets pretty whacky sounding at times. Keeping with the 80s vibe, Urusei Yatsura had some pretty good OP/ED tunes as well as some interesting and variegated BGM. Also incorporates some traditional Japanese music at times, which I really like.

Someone mentioned Macross Frontier, which I'm currently watching and this series has some great music as well. In fact, most of the music from the Macross franchise is pretty good (can't really go wrong with anything Yoko Kanno).

Takafumi Wada's soundtrack for Highschool of the Dead is interesting. Dark and glitchy at times.

I loved the OP/ED themes from Maison Ikkoku and Kimagure Orange Road as well. Haven't watched either in years, so I don't really remember the BGM (need to get back to those soon).

Glad I've found more people that sympathize with me, haha.
I have a fair collection of OPs and EDs, listing some of my favorites:
Angel Beats
Clannad
Spice and Wolf
Toradora
Anohana
Fate/Stay Night
Bakemonogatari
I tend to download random ones though because usually either one or the other is good/the series has more than just two OPs/EDs; some that I can think of is Shounen Heart from Eureka Seven, Parallel Hearts from Pandora Hearts, Euphoric Field from ef...the list goes on and on

I think I'm more of a fan of soundtracks than the OPs and EDs though, a lot of them make for good study music or just some stuff you listen to when you come back to your room after a rough day and need to mellow out. Anohana has some really good piano soundtracks...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2e-EXECucQ and all the Key anime series have deep ones as well. Plus the feels that you get when you listen to something that plays during dramatic scenes...damn...Q.Q

Death Note OP 1, does it really need an explanation?
Aria the Animation ED 1, plays in my head whenever I think of or see a rainbow in a very good kind of way.
Toradora  and Baccano! soundstrack are really good.
I really like TMOHS though, surprised that it hasn't been mentioned, pretty much the ost of the slice of life genre

NOIR
Touch
Air
+ more...

Mostly like only a handful of songs in most albums but the above are of a better quality imo.
From reading other posts will have to try Bubblegum Crisis.

Best I've heard so far are Paprika and Spice & Wolf

There are a wide variety of great singles I've heard from other soundtracks though, but those two have the highest amount of good songs in them in my experience.

In no particular order:

Ghost in the Shell
Cowboy Bebop (As you can see I love Yoko Kanno and The Seatbelts)
Attack on Titan
Psycho Pass

There are a few others I have picked songs from but cant name off the top of my head.
