It's childish idealism he chooses to live by, despite being surrounded by women whose strength and basic competence vastly surpass his own. The series plays with the notions of gender roles.

So this is going to be prevelent throughout the show... Gosh... I wish I never started watching it then. >.>

Protip: Play the visual novel instead. If you're going to go with anime, you'll have to put up with
1. censoring to the point of changing entire plot points
2. skipping character development
3. a condensed movie (UBW) for the 2nd route
4. the adaptation for the 3rd route doesn't exist yet

So play the VN and watch Fate/Zero instead if you want an anime. F/Z is really good and a lot more mature and less fight-centric.

Am I the only one here who downloads on a want-to-watch-soon basis?
600GB is crazy...I've splurged at best like 200GB in two days, and I've not even 1TB yet.
ummm, "hello BD Flac"...and almost all of them i only watched 1-4 episode only, because, well, the story is not good enough...thats why its on-hold...

havent watched: Cromartie High School, though the opening is VERY good~

Cromartie High School episodes are incredibly short. And there's hardly any plot, so you can pick it up and drop it without feeling obligated to watch the whole thing over if you take too long to finish it. The live action movie wasn't bad either, albeit incredibly low budget (Mechazawa...)

75% of the VN is about cooking. And yeah Shiro is one of those really stupid main characters you hate.

To be honest it wasn't the most serious Visual Novel for me since I was actively trying to get all the Tiger Dojos.

He is also one of the rare stupid characters that actually grows up to be a man. Wonder why everyone forgets to add that part.

I liked his character arc personally. He comes to understand his own hypocrisy, but rather than abandoning his ideals he develops a mature perspective which balances them with reality.

Unless you're talking about...

I don't remember that at all. He was just as stubborn and stupid throughout the entire thing.

I've never seen Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, or Code Geass. I've had them all on my external for years, but usually have a backlog of recent anime to watch and something else always seems more enticing.

I haven't seen:

K-On! and all its clones.
Lucky Star

Don't get their popularity either.

He's also got one of the most boring shounen protagonist powers ever. "Potential." Just an excuse to start him off weak but make him the most fantastically powered at the end.

Least it's not Bleach bad, where they just introduce new powers and have the protagonist retroactively always have had them.

K-On is pretty moeblob, and I understand any hate it gets. It's nice to have a show with some substance, and moeblob is just cute girls doing cute things because they're cute.

Lucky Star though is mostly just insider jokes. It's anime about anime. If the meta bothers you you probably won't like it.

Gintama ---> hasn't been interesting so far. Watched only two episodes. I will have to decide this for myself if I find the time.
There are a lot of bad episodes in the first seasons imo (50 first episodes), and it is mainly character introduction, so I would say give the gintama movie Gintama Shinyaku Benizakura Hen a try, and if you liked that one, you will probably like the series.

Through Fate, yes. Through the other 2 routes, no. Another reason to not watch the anime.

Even BD FLAC will probably let you have like ~20 or so full series with 600GB.....

Hard drive space is cheap, my internet doesn't throttle or charge extra for usage, why not get any and everything that strikes my interest? Worst case you don't like it and you delete it.

I don't know, I don't remember him being any better in any other routes. The only route I didn't do yet is the purple haired girl, I think. I should probably get around to that at some point...

No, I'd run out space before getting more.
I don't only have anime on my drives...

You gotta lay off the porn, megiod-rev.M.   ;D

Gintama ---> hasn't been interesting so far. Watched only two episodes. I will have to decide this for myself if I find the time.

Gintama is basically a gag anime that parodies other Shonen Jump titles and their requisite cliches.

It's very hit or miss.

They even parody non-Shonen Jump titles, such as Yatterman and Detective Conan.  Even Jackie Chan, the martial arts star, is parodied in one episode, along with his co-star Sammo Hung.  There's also a parody of the legendary tokusatsu show Ultraman.

Gintama basically parodies a lot of stuff.

Another thing you will notice, if you are fan of shows like Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece, is that many of those show's voice actors are the main characters in Gintama.  Listen very closely to the voices...

Death Note, Naruto and Bleach sucks in my opinion! I hate the artwork - it's just not interesting enough for me to even try watching it!

Neither do I. Can get a lot of space for cheap if you're just using it for storage.
