ABC bT client
« on: November 10, 2013, 12:24:09 PM »
Hi guys and babes, as you probably can see I am a new member around here. Been fooling around with the diff stuff on the site, before I finally decided to sign up.

Anyway, I can not use uTorrent anymore, so I changed over to ABC for this site. My question to you guys is now, why can I seed while DLing a file from this site ? Is it a restriction from the client or the site ?

Best regards

I hope you realize that the torrent you're downloading is significantly larger than the warning threshold on BakaBT.

Give me 1 day and I will solve that, it just seems a little backwards for me to be able to seed something AFTER it is fully DLed. I just wanted to confirm if this is the case with the rest of the members and not just something I am experiencing.

'(...).. why can't I seed while DLing a file from this site ?'

I would appreciate anyone giving a helping hand here. Is it possible to seed the torrent I am downloading atm. ? Have stopped the DL btw, just in case I do get banned or warned.

It's too late: you are already well past the warning threshold.
You'd better restart it and hope that the warning does not kick in before you finish its downloading, otherwise you will be stuck in the warned state without any seedable torrents because you cannot seed incomplete torrents while being warned.

Okei, thanks. What you are saying is that the torrent can be seeded by me the moment I have finished completely downloading the torrent ?

First of all don't doublepost.
Now concerning your question, it IS possible to seed while downloading (you have already uploaded 32MB), the problem is that the torrents are all overseeded. In your case I'd limit the DL speed to maybe 50-100kB and then just hope that you can continue uplaoding. You could also try to get as many files as possible through the group sites, and thus reducing your download while still being able to seed. Or just stop teh download for now and go for freeleech stuffs. Another thing you could do is DL the torrent you want after logging out, then DL the torrent after logging in and replace teh files (not really nice to do that, but it works). Most of these hints are in the wiki btw.

In his/her situation it's the worst possible advice.

Thanks for those helpful tips, even though I won't restart for the time being, I was just so confused of me not seeding, because this site has to be one of the few sites with that amazing s/l ratio. As a former Demonoid member I respect the rules of this site, but I seriously had no idea it has soo many seeders for that particular torrent compared to the leechers.

I will ask one of the higher ups if I can fully DL it, before the ban kicks in.

Thanks for the replies, guys. Really grateful.

S/he will be able to download the whole torrent with the public key and then slap it with his/her for seed, but I am not sure if this scenario doesn't give you automatic ban  :-\
All 1080p are freeleech anyways, not big deal. Just watch FHD until your ratio if fine  8)

IIRC, warning usually does not kick in in the very first day after registration on BakaBT.
Seeding 7-8 GB on a fast connection to become unwarned should be no big deal.

This particular torrent is a trap: most of its 'leechers' are actually partial seeders. In addition, it is difficult to compete with 30+ seedboxes.
