Need help with RSS feed.
« on: November 14, 2013, 05:29:46 PM »
I recently started using the RSSFeed Scanner (1.4.5) in Vuze V5.1.0.0/4 az3 (formerly azureus) on Mac OS X v10.9, x86_64. Oh and just in case Java has anything to do with the problem below, my current Java version is Java 1.6.0_65.
Now that I've listed down all the technical mumbo jumbo, let me get to the problem at hand. Whenever my RSSFeed Scanner tries to scan for torrents, I get a:

5:00 until reload - Malformed RSS XML: The element type "link" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "</link>

I suspect that its telling me that RSS URL is wrong somehow (Its: http://www.nyaatorrents.org/?page=rss) but I'm quite sure that the link is correct.
Under the options, I currently obey TTL & Use URL as Referrer for torrents. Do I need to pass cookies or something? (Not very sure about that too :-[)
Anyway, thanks in advance!

IE10 shows no problems. RSS-source shows proper link /link pairs (as far I can tell).
So, blame RSSfeedscanner, probably it isn't capable of dealing with 100 titles at once (40+ KB of data).
Eg. when only reading 32 KB, then it could/would read a 'link' without the matching '/link'.

Try it yourself by opening the feed with safari (or whatever BROWSER you use).

For the record, uTorrent is able to deal with 7000+ titles, barely, without plugin :)
I've added the Nyaa-feed to uTorrent 2.2.1 and download of 100 torrents were started without any hickup :)

Because Vuze relies on Java, it could be a Java matter, like running out of bufferspace (memory).

Ahh. So its a software problem. Well then, looks like I'll have to allocate more memory to Java. Well either that or switch to uTorrent. :-\ And there I thought that Vluze was the preferred torrent application due to its reliability.  :P
Many thanks!

Not by a long shot. Old versions of uTorrent (1.8.5 or 2.2.1) are the preferred, by a huge margin.

Oh.... I could have sworn that the BakaBT Wiki recommended Vluze. Ah well, I must be getting blind.
Thanks for the recommendations BTW~

It's just amongst the recommended ones. It's not the preferred client.

I see. Well, guess I'm not blind after all!

Because Vuze relies on Java, it could be a Java matter, like running out of bufferspace (memory).
Added extra 1GB to Java, didn't work. Looks like the problem stems from the scanner itself. :(

Looks like I'll really have to do that then. I don't really want to, cause I'm going to have to re-tag the torrents for seeding over to uTorrent. Oh I'll also add screenshots of the Scanner just in case I missed something.
