Question: what is the most recommended uTorrent version?
egozi44:
Really many thanks Bozobub for the info
I think I will roll back to ver 2.2.1
I have just 3 questions before I will do so (some of them are questions that I may already ask and didn't got reply, but please bear with me)
1. does anyone know a way to get other languages for uTorrent 2.2.1 ? since uTorrent main site seem to delete them each time they release new version (or that I just didn't was able to find them xD)
2. what is the best build for version 2.2.1? Build 25302 (the very last one) ?
or it have some bugs as well and there's more stable build?
3. I know it may be a really noob question that I asked before but does version 2.2.1 support magnet links? I never happened to use magnet links till ver 3x came out and I recall that they said something on the change log about adding or improving support for magnet links.
thanks

Search OldApps for "uTorrent 2.2.1 <language>". For example, if you want the Chinese version, "uTorrent 2.2.1 Chinese".

I believe the final 2.2.1 build would be best, yeah.

One of the posts in this thread seems to suggest the answer is yes, but limited.
Bozobub:
uTorrent 2.2.1 does use magnet links, but does not preload the torrent data from a magnet link, unlike newer versions (and Vuze/Azureues) behavior. So, in other words, in a torrent with many, many files, if you only wanted sxpecific ones, this could be an issue. It's been a problem exactly *once* for me (a torrent of all NTSC PSX games ) ever with uTorrent, so take that as you will. If partial torrent downloads are common for you, you may want to consider Azureus/Vuze (make sure to activate the "Classic interface, if you do).

Thanks mina
now that a downer :/
I tend to download partial torrents a lot (not on animes but mostly on other random stuff such as games, other series,... did I already said random stuff? xD)
Either ways if ver 2.2.1 have issues with displaying the files you download on the file's list (only with magnet links ofc) I don't think it will be a good idea for me to roll back to that version ._. .....
So I guess that good old buggy 3.2.3... here I came? :-|
P.S Freedom Kira, where is the languages links on the uTorrents links section in OldApps? I don't seem to be able to find it
NVM... I done as you said and searched in the search bar.. my lang don't seem to be there.. even for the newer version ;(

I've got no real issues with magnet links and uTorrent 2.2.1; it's just that I can only view the torrent content (the filelist) after I've started the torrent download and not beforehand. Besides that it all works the same as with regular torrent files, just like Bozobub said.
It's still possible to selectively download files; you just need to act directly after starting a torrent.
