Surely the latter's not targeted at adults (we) anyhow.

vuzedome:
You can never be too old!

Krudda:
Oh how convincing

Honestly i don't think it's a matter of age. Some people just get bored of Anime. I know i am totally bored of the cliched anime shows that pop up. I don't watch nearly as much as i used to. But when a really good show comes up i still seriously enjoy it just as much as i used to. I'm just a bit more discerning now that what i watch isn't just full of cliched crap. That isn't because ive got older i'm just much more experienced with anime now and the same old crap bores me to tears. Alot of people however make the mistake of thinking they are done with anime cos they're bored of the same old rubbish but have not really explored the multiple genres and standards within the medium. So my suggestion is try alot of different types of series and see if you can enjoy any of them. Branch out into stuff you wouldn't otherwise touch. If nothing interests you at all. Then maybe yes your done with Anime. But it's still got nothing to do with your age. Besides the time it took to watch enough Anime to get to this point.

To me, age doesn't matter, what's left is only enjoyment. Preferences of each individual is subjective, and if anime is what you enjoy, then it just is what you enjoy.

Ultimately, it isn't a problem with anime, as anything could've as easily taken up its position. You're having these thoughts probably because you're feeling down about your life. Well, everyday's a new start, so perk up, you ain't gonna be stuck being 24 forever, thinking whether you're too old for anime. Try something new, who knows you might find the passion for it.

If you have the time too, try reading up on the autobiography of the guy who founded Culture Japan. I think it relates much better to people who love anime and the Japanese culture, as opposed to biographies of some random successful businessman.
