Look at my MAL in my sig, most of them match your requirements. I would especially highlight Bakemonogatari for you though.

Agreed, School Days is a must-watch. All the way through. Indeed, many people say having watched it all the way through is an unspoken requirement for posting in these forums.

I was mostly joking about SD actually. But now I think about it, it actually isn't a bad recommendation - it's a good anime in it's own way. A fine demonstration of why the kind of things that happen in most harem romance anime never happen in real life :P

Prepare to scream and shout while watching School Days. The MC is a colossal fucking wheelchair.

But do give it a proper chance. If you drop it after three episodes because of the MC, like I did the first time I watched it, you will regret it. And there's a nice reward at the end for watching all the way through, too :)

I personally dislike action/combat in anime but I fucking loved Samurai Champloo. I originally picked it up because of the soundtrack (made by Fat Jon, Tsuchie, Force a Nature and Nujabes) as the creators are some if my favourite musicians. However, I really enjoyed the show and the plot. Very chill

Sorry - MC = main character.

And by that we usually mean the protagonist.
