I'm not American, I'm European. Most of us don't glorify sports like Americans do. If we don't play a particular sports, we usually don't care to watch it either. The exception to this seems to be soccer, where people like to identify with a certain team, and consider their victories as theirs as well. It's really sad.

As a fellow European, I would just like to point out that that is bullshit. Many people - indeed, probably the majority of people - watch sports they don't actually play, and many people - indeed, probably the majority of people - do not watch football (though it is the most popular sport in most of Europe).
Not that any of this has anything to do with liking sports anime or not. Being American or European or whatever has precisely zero relation to how likely one is to enjoy sports anime. If you don't like it, you don't like it. It's not a cultural thing at all.

You're right. In fact, most Americans don't like sports anime either. They do enjoy sports more, but apparently, sports anime not so much. I was wrong in my assumption that people who like sports would like sports anime.
