I've watched probably close to 100 series in my life.
Stopped reading right there. Wow, 100 series. You must be pretty hardcore. And you even admit to mostly watching the popular ones. Go home kid.... you're drunk. Come back when you've matured a little, in the anime viewing department at least. Or, you could just quit. Nobody would care either way. Though that list...
Edit: HAHAHAHA!!!! He gave Naruto a 10/10. Wow... damn... FMA got a 7/10. This kid is HILARIOUS!!
Yeah lets single someone out for their tastes of
'entertainment' on an
anime board, for what reasons I sure as hell don't know. All your post did was show that an insipid immature guy
you are...
- Naruto has an incredibly in-depth plot with about a billion twists. Good voice acting (some disagree but I don't), as well as good amounts action/violence, romance and in the later arc; very good visuals amongst a million other things. But sure it's a AAA series with a huge budget.
- By comparison - FMA (at the time of watching there was no second season released) was in lower quality, had infuriating characters (Alphonse), minimal character development and it ended abruptly. Hence the 7/10, to be honest I think it was fair. Apparently 'FMA, Brotherhood' is meant to be a whole ton better and I have, at many times considered going back and re-watching the whole thing from start to finish but I haven't got around to it as generally I've always felt it's better to just start on something new.
So there, I think I, like many others (probably even you too), have fair reasons for my ratings, when given the chance to explain.
But hey, dat rationale of yours, you sound like you belong on an online game, not an anime forum.. Troll harder please

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This next post was a real eye-opener and one of the best I have read in a long time (to be fair most of these have, albeit the troll baiting ones and etc). The last sentence really made me think, and to be honest this should go into some sort of 'Anime/Otaku's guide book' or something

...
Skipping what others have posted, I will reply directly to your post, OP.
First off, you watched Attack on Titan with the completely wrong mindset. To a higher extreme, watching Attack on Titan for the action is like watching hentai for the plot. Attack on Titan was meant to be a story. It tries to throw the weight of the situation on you, and it excels at doing so. Don't forget that the anime is not over. There is another season coming.
Second, Another was mediocre. Your decision to stop watching anime because a show didn't meet your incorrect expectations is silly.
Third, there are a lot of bad shows out there. You said it yourself - a majority of the shows you watched were "mainstream". Most mainstream shows are overrated and garbage. Take the effort to sift through the bullshit and find a show you actually want to watch. Go into the show only with the expectation that the show is about what the synopsis from MAL or AniDB says it is about.
Find a genre you like and stick to it. Don't force yourself to watch shows that you don't feel in your heart you want to watch. Most importantly make sure you are watching shows for the right reason. They are there to entertain, not to bend to your desires. If you go into every show with expectations you will only be satisfied one in a hundred times.
To each their own I guess? Though it sounds like you just don't like series with great storytelling, fantastic characters and gorgeous battle scenes. And epic moments almost every episode.
Fair call, but let me just say what about "Characters" and "Plot holes"? By plot holes I mean what I said about leaving certain specific plot details unanswered (in SNK's case, 95% of them).
As many others have said it's incredibly easy to dislike something for one very specific thing that really starts to overshadow everything else. Googling around and seeing no definitive proof that the series will be renewed, with seriously MANY saying that it might not regardless of popularity (we all know that CAN happen). It can be a huge deal-breaker.
Like, how is Levi a prick? He's a badass man who hates the titans and has the utmost respect for his fellow soldiers. Did you fall asleep during that scene where the soldier died and he grabbed his bloody hand, even though he's OCD? I don't know a single person who didn't love that moment.
- Umm beating the snot out of Eren for showing valor in the midst of a bunch of corrupt and cowardly pricks at the tribunal hearing?
- I hardly consider giving that guy who was crying a patch that was his friend's as 'giving much of a shit' especially when the 1 of the 2 of them got eaten and so did some other people after trying to rescue their friend's body. I would have expected an instant execution for that (that's what we were lead to believe would happen in the earlier parts of the anime).
- The scene where he holds hands with the guy who asks if he had 'contributed to humanity' didn't feel very 'warm' or caring to me..
- Riding in the forest in the later episodes and not explaining what is going on, or at least something brief that they should just continue on and all shut up. Silence and ignoring everyone whilst other people die for what is seemingly no reason. Ok there was a reason but if he had real emotion he would have handled the situation better.
- His attitude in general. But sure, okay the guy is a Captain, he's a military man, I know nothing of his background as it wasn't really explained in the anime and at times I thought he was a pretty cool guy
but then he usually did something to change my mind again.
About this.. http://catofthecanals.com/post/76148286693/if-you-were-born-on-february-10-you-certainly
Another fair point actually.
Don't get frustrated with negative replies. Some people love to troll even if they have to do it in a hypocrites(spelling help?) way.At least the attack thread wasn't on the front page.
Have you tried Appleseed, Black Lagoon, Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuiokuhen,Gantz (don't expect a conclusion in the anime. The manga is finishes though.), Ghost in the Shell,Vampire Hunter D, Wolf's Rain, Xam'd Lost memories ?
+FMA, Magi, Basilisk
He was probably just irritated that I insulted one of the Animes he likes, or he was just having a bad night like I was. To be honest I don't care, just felt he wasn't making any valid points. I see he can make mistakes without thinking too though haha. All water under the bridge anyway.
I actually plan to try
'Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuiokuhen' and I have actually read all of the
'Gantz' manga and I really liked it. Enough plot twists and stuff but in that case there wasn't really much character development but that's due to the nature of the story and it didn't really matter due to that. I didn't watch the Anime because as you said it's not completed so I figured what's the point.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I guess after reading many of these replies I've come to realise a lot of things, and one of the biggest definitely is:
Maybe (personally) it's best not to watch Animes that do not have a completed story-arc as generally I guess I do tend to judge a bit heavily on how they end and how much they come full circle (if at all)So I might just stick to completed Animes in the future and be much more wary of something that isn't finished. In my defense though I actually initially thought that SNK was just 'on-going' for the sake of it. Somewhat how the first series of Naruto was. In that, the general storyline was entirely completed but that they were making more fillers and other stuff to keep the fan-base happy. So that the Anime was actually the entire Manga compacted into 25 episodes. Obviously I was entirely wrong, because by episode 18 I wondered how on earth they were going to explain everything in just a few more episodes.
Browsing around MAL and suddenly a wild 'slightly relevant' hilarious comment appears:
