Why I feel I have just watched my last anime...
Bozobub:
a) You care enough to remark upon it. Twice.
b) Sure, you said something I disagreed with, but it was not your opinion of the anime in question; I at least partially agree with your opinions of those series, in fact, although I enjoyed all of them at least a bit. What I disagree with is flat statements of opinion as fact, and I said exactly that.
c) I see your point re: constructive responses here, but I think your response isn't helping at all in that respect. In fact, YOU didn't recommend a damn thing, yourself, now did you?
What I object to most, is the pissed-off tone many of the responses here have taken. If the guy's tastes have changed, so be it! Feel free to say why you think he (or any of the respondents) are wrong, but lose the butthurt, people; it convinces no one of anything but your own churlishness.

I did in fact make some suggestions on the first page of this thread.

...And then followed it with an unconstructive statement.

A thing that would help you finding anime you like would be if you do 5 minutes research on the series, to save you wasting a lot of time watching something that isn't in your taste. Like you would have zero need of re watching FMA, since FMA:B isn't sequel, plus FMA doesn't end abruptly, it finish off with a movie called Fullmetal Alchemist: The Conqueror of Shamballa. Your watching experience would improve a lot if you just looked at the relation of the anime on the MAL page.

To be honest, I was never interested enough in FMA to do much (if any) research on anything to do with it. I watched the original FMA. I wasn't all that entertained and then I just left it. I was almost certain that there was something to tie it all off though for example:
(click to show/hide)Edward being able to somehow bring his brother back and undo all of the damage he had done through alchemy even after being sent to the world without alchemy, but with science.
But seriously. We're talking about something I watched close to NINE years ago.

Are all plotholes answered in Naruto? no, since it is an ongoing manga it is adopting, expecting SNK to answer the plotholes already now makes no sense, sense with it is also an ongoing manga.

Actually Naruto is starting to come quite full circle.. have you watched Shippuden lately? No anime can every come completely full circle but compared to many others I could list, Naruto is definitely one of those animes that goes above and beyond others in order to bring every little tiny detail to light. Having said that, I realise SNK isn't completed yet (not even the manga) and I already said it was perhaps an unfair assumption to be left with the same kind of revelation that Code Geass R1 left its watchers with.

--- Quote ---As many others have said it's incredibly easy to dislike something for one very specific thing that really starts to overshadow everything else. Googling around and seeing no definitive proof that the series will be renewed, with seriously MANY saying that it might not regardless of popularity (we all know that CAN happen). It can be a huge deal-breaker.

Here is the thing
1. when the season 1 finished it had adopted over 60% of the manga. They don't have enough material to adopt for a second 25 episode season.
2. the mangaka have announced that his story will be on 20volumes, where he have completed 11-12 of them so far. The studio will wait to a time, where they can start to adopt the rest, without there being to much time between each season, so they might do either season 2 (25 epsiode) season 3(13 episodes) | season 2 (13 epsiode) season 3(25 episodes) to cover all 20 Vol.
3. Fillers wont work well for this series, together with the manga being a monthly release schedule instead of weekly.
4. You can always, you know read the manga if it is an issue.
5. The mangaka have announced he will be remarking his original ending he had planned, since it would be a bit to dark for an anime adoption. This mean it is very likely the rest will be animated, considering it is really popular.
Since you are "new" to anime you have been mostly watching anime that have finished already, so you aren't used to anime have multiple seasons, where you still have to wait for the next season and hope it gets aired/animated. This seem to be a huge issue for you, when answering of plotholes is important to you, and you aren't interested in reading the material it is adopted from. It also seem to me that complex character isn't something you appreciate, and instead you want more simple characters that develop more personality over time for character development.
If I should make a recommendation, it would be one piece. And my recommendation would be to read the manga, since it would be a good experience for you to try to read the media that often gets adopted together with you saying you had "given up" on anime. To save you some time, yes it is ongoing in the style of naruto, not like the attack on titans.

I don't like One Piece due to the 'slowness' and ridiculousness of long dramatic sections that seem to hold episodes in check forever. I read the first 15 books or so and then watched something like 50 episodes and realised they hadn't even gotten past the 6th book. The anime is far too slow, far too drawn out and the 20 second close-ups of people's faces and expressions to make up for a lack of script and to drag the episodes on so much just isn't my type. Also I don't like the animation style at all and the voice acting is actually kinda sub-average too. So thanks but I've already taken up all of the animes in the last 2 posts recommended to me on the 2nd page of this thread. Those will do for now and I've taken up 2 of my own too that will hopefully be good.
I appreciate the constructive criticisms though really. I want to enjoy anime as much as the next person.
Ozzaharwood:
Honestly, my advice to you is to find something else to do other than watch anime.
I've read all of the posts in this thread so far, and it seems like you have a lot of problems with a lot of anime. If you don't like something, don't watch it. Stick with Naruto, and if something else ever catches your attention try it out. But honestly, I don't think you'll like the majority of anime just because you don't like the majority of the critically acclaimed anime. If you don't like some of the highest rated stuff, it's hard for me to believe you'll like many of the others.
Good luck, and I hope you find some stuff you actually like. That, and I hope your taste will develop as you watch more and you'll be able to watch a broader variety of shows. If you are stingy about what you watch or judge a show based on it's first few episodes, you will miss out on a lot of great anime.
