Why I feel I have just watched my last anime...

<< < (13/16) > >>

Mistgun_Zero:
OP, before watching another episode of naruto, how about you actually read the manga first. You will then probably understand the real difference in quality and storytelling and how stupid most fillers are. Perhaps after you are done with naruto you might actually see that there are many more which are quite better than naruto.

People forget that most anime come from Mangas... Unless it's a rare original story (Which, nowadays, are usually just an excuse to ecchi the season up), there's always ways to pick the story up of a dropped show. Picking up Berserk, Gantz and Claymore were probably the best decisions related to anime that I've taken, ever. Specifically for Berserk.

Anyways, I just don't understand why I had to learn that OP wants to quit anime. This was a pretty interesting Attack On Titan critic essay... but some things are better left off boards when we're dealing with the internet. Might be wrong, but I'm pretty positive very few will sympathize with an obvious overreaction of a drama queen lol.

I can't see how this could have went any other way given that us crazy anime people browsing these forums always get riled up when our favorite shows get criticized. :P

1. OP shows up in a forum to complain about anime and says he will quit from it. If you wanted to quit, just do so. Publicly announcing it makes it seem like you are a self centered elitist. He didn't even intend to have a discussion.

2. He makes a bad thread in a wrong section. That's enough to disgruntle forum goers.Nope.Wrong

3. He talks shit about anime. On an anime forum.Because talking about anime on a NRA or a Nvidia forum is the way to go.

Everyone here should just let this guy quit anime. Leave him to his Avatar and Naruto. No one would miss him.If you're going to tell us what to do I'm going to do the same:Eat half a melon while riding a bike. Also don't listen to everyone else when they tell you "Leave him to his Avatar and Naruto. " is something a self centered condescending elitist would say. They are just jello.

I'm worried that you think 100 series isn't too much, sure it isn't tipping the iceberg of the anime universe but that alone shaved 2~4 years off my lifespan. If you managed to watch some truly shitty anime during that time then you can see why the OP is pissed. Maybe he should stick to watching anime before the year 2006.

As for all the replies in the thread wow, it's like you'd shutter at even the thought of somebody mentioning sailor moon on this thread and saint tail. I don't know whether the op would like the truly unique anime that everyone tries to avoid, like onmyou taisenki, brave 10, lupin the third, cinderella boy, the snow queen or the skull man but for me naruto when it was not bombarded by fillers and shitty story telling was a story about ninja's for crying out loud, entertainment on tv was non existent, nickoloadion was a joke, i thought i was a zombie at the tv screen with the lack of entertainment going on.

When i stumbled upon naruto and inuyasha at youtube i thought i was in paradise until yeah the fillers came way later down the line.

You do not have the right to prick at others viewing experiences unless something is truly wrong with the show, the "lol kiddy stuff" will not cut it.

You either recommend anime that falls inline with his viewing experiences or step out of the thread.

Shohei-kun:
100 episodes is a lot, but when they are mainstream you won't get any sense of what you actually like. My recommendation to you is to start watching genres of anime at a time. Instead of watching whatever you want, watch whatever you want in a specific genre. Watch 5 action shows, then watch 5 mecha shows, then 5 slice of life, etc etc... You will find a group of 5 overall more enjoyable to watch than the others.

When you finally develop a mature taste for your interests I suggest going back to your list and re-rating the shows you have watched. As others have poked at, the numbers are your list are...well...misgui ded. Rating a show solely on entertainment is a poor way to judge since your tastes will change. Rate on how good the storytelling was, how pleasing the art and sound were (using the context of the time of creation), and how you felt after you finished watching the show. Attempt to judge objectively in the story and art departments. Just because you hate the story doesn't mean it was bad. Rating shows is a complicated process that is hard to do properly, but if you take the time to sit down and think about what the show is people will take you more seriously and will be able to provide you with better recommendations for shows.
