Your Anime Double Standards?

<< < (5/6) > >>

DmonHiro:
I don't think you're using the term correctly here.
I hate traps, but I love reverse-traps. That's a double-standard. Different viewpoint on the same subject but with reversed genre.
I hate yaoi, but love yuri. That's also a double-standard. Again, different viewpoint depending on the sex of the homosexual relationship.
Liking only shounen, and no other genre, isn't really a double-standard. That's much too vague.

Gh0st93:
I hate anime, but I watch anime.

SchoolDaysEX:
From Wikipedia-
A double standard is the application of different sets of principles for similar situations, or by two different people in the same situation.[1] A double standard may take the form of an instance in which certain concepts (often, for example, a word, phrase, social norm, or rule) are perceived as acceptable to be applied by one group of people, but are considered unacceptable—taboo—when applied by another group

Maybe you guys misinterpreted my poll. You have just watched an average SOL and an average action. You like the SOL/romance but dislike the shounen. Therefore you click on the option "Likes SOL/ romance, disregards shounen". Then in your post, you way say that you didn't like the shounen because the plot was too slow, but admit that the SOL plot was slow, yet you liked it anyway, which you apply to the entire genres.

Nikkoru:
I don't think I have a double standard.

No, nothing springs to mind.

The closest I can come up with is that I dislike the moe-ification of modern anime and fan service, yet some anime which appeals to both I do find myself watching.

I watched "Yuusha ni Narenakatta Ore wa Shibushibu Shuushoku wo Ketsui Shimashita" (I really hate the lengthy titles used nowadays) and "Outbreak Company" last year, and "Dog Days" before that. I found reasons to like them, where I didn't for others... possibly because they're light-hearted Fantasy I happened to be in the mood for with the over-exposure of cynical SF/fantasy in North America.

shabutie:
Not sure if it falls in line here.

But I love action (ex: Berserk, GiTS)  and I love comedies (ex: Lucky Star, Nichijou), but I loath action comedies (ex: Trigun, FMA)

Don't chibfy my actions pls >_>
