Can't verify if you don't have the torrent on. If the problem persist and you're not seeing your stats updated correctly switch to a REAL bittorrent client like utorrent or azureus. As has been stated many times before some clients to don't reply to the tracker correctly and end up giving faulty stats.

Second, your stats don't update in real time. You client must update with the tracker and send the info into it. Typically this is done every half hour but most clients have an option to do it right away with the click of a mouse.

I'm having a bit of a problem with tracking at the moment, although its never happened before, none of my downloads/uploads are being tracked. My ratio is pretty poor right now so I've been seeding only, none stop, but the torrents are not showing on my user page nor has my ratio changed. I have dhcp enabled so my ip changes frequently but i use upnp with my router and i'm using Azureus 2.5.0.4 i've not had any problems with the tracking of my downloads and uploads before. I'm guessing this may have something to with the locking of my ip but when i go into my profile on the site i can't see any boxes there for locking ip's etc. I've tried a few things, deleting cookies, power cycling, closing Azureus logging out of boxtorrents then restarting Azureus and logging back into boxtorrents. I even started a download to see if it would be tracked but it wasn't, technically i could go on a leechathon without my ratio being affected (i assure you i'm not through! i love and respect boxtorrents way too much to do that, plus i just want to improve my ratio before i start anymore downloads) bit worrying that, as a member its possible to do that though. Well, i hope someone can offer some help because i'm stumped and it would be greatly appreciated of course.

You're not alone:

Box had some downtime this morning. Seems to be related to that.

Most likely the tracker is fine but the connection to the database that the website uses to pull stats is failing to function. I'm sure Jarudin will get it working again.

Perhaps you guys can help me out. Ever since the webpage/tracker went down this week, I've been having trouble with the tracker reporting. Before I had no problem with the tracker keeping up with my download amounts and ratio, but now it refuses to recognize that I have down/uploaded anything. This is only as far as the actual gb go, the tracker still sees me leeching and seeding everything, shows them in my user page, and even gives me bonus points still. When I woke up this morning from seeding all night, I finally realized that it wasn't updating my down/upload amounts, because the ratio hadn't changed (and I capped by download to ensure my upload would increase), nor had the amount downloaded (I actually remembered it from yesterday ^__^) I'm using uTorrent 1.7.7 and I've noticed that sometimes the torrents are green (meaning ok) and then sometimes they go to red (meaning tracker problems) and then turn back if I click "Update Tracker" I just thought it was weird, I never had this problem before the maintanence the other day, but I can't say that's the problem. Any ideas? I hate my ratio being at 9.42 when I've been working so hard to redownload all the anime I lost when my harddrive crashed last week WHILE keeping a good upload rate, lol. The universe is against me these days ~__~
I love my box!!!

Okies, I've logged out, cleared the cache and cookies, changed the port to 2710, turned off DHT, and pretty much everything else I've seen recommended. I'll be back from work in about 4 hours, we'll see if the tracker is still showing properly then ^__^
I love my box!!!

No need to change utorrent port to 2710 actually, that's for tracker data, not necessarily packet data ;) Would be safer to set a port number between 49512-65535 for packet data since port numbers below that are usually reserved for other purposes. Just make sure 2710 is forwarded/unblocked on your router.

Okies, forwarded ports, changed uTorrent port to something in the 50000 range, and went *squee!* at Kureshii's av (which I do everytime I see it on here, lol). So time to go to work!
I love my box!!!

*does cute happy dance* Works so much better now! Boxtorrent updates my tracker info correctly and faster now, and webpages load quicker while I'm seeding now too for some reason. Probably not related, but who knows. Thaaaaaanks, kureshii ^___^
I love my box!!!

I'm having ratio problems as well.  I'm using Deluge.  Recently disabled "Peer Exchange" and "Enable Mainline DHT" and it doesnt seem to be tracking anything correctly.  There are two animes I stopped seeding and it is still showing them there.  Also, Im seeding Ah! My Goddess: Fighting Wings (special) [AonE-AnY], Deluge is showing I've uploaded 19 TBs and it only shows 225 MB on the box.  Its the same for some others,  I know I've collectively uploaded well over 25 TBs but it only shows 197 GB.  My ratio should be 18.  Any other suggestions?  I dont even see an option to lock or unlock my IP on my profile page.

Nef.

So you uploaded 19TB before you realized something was wrong?
Do you realize that you need a 5MB/s connection if you want to upload 25TB in 2 months?

I have a 10MB download with 1.5MB upload.  As far as the  25TB, thats the information my tracker is giving me. I have been seeding day and night for weeks at a time.

Deluge is telling you you've uploaded 25TB since the torrent was started. Was that when you stopped using PEX and DHT? Or did you only do that well into the torrent's life on your client? I'm not surprised if you've been running the torrent for some time, then disabled PEX and DHT; means that most of that 25TB was probably uploaded to peers not on Box's tracker so you didn't get the credit.

Here's a simple check: Now that you've disabled PEX and DHT (make sure Local Ex is disabled as well), stop the torrent, remove the task and start it again (resetting the stats). Run it for 2-3 days and see if it's being reported correctly.

As for torrents still being on the list after stopping, it sometimes happens to me. The torrents disappear within 24hrs though, and tracking is fairly accurate (still has small discrepancies but I've learned to deal with that)

Sorry...  Complete newbie to this site.  I want it to work for me, but it's not.  I'm using utorrent.  Tried looking at the first post of this sticky, but it seems things have changed.  I looked on my user profile, but can't find anything regarding my ip.  I tried following what I could to make it work, but it isn't.  My torrents aren't being counted, my share ratio is 0.  Last night, I downloaded and shared Gun X Sword - 25 GB, but nothing showed up.

What do I need to check and what am I doing wrong?  Is there a more current newbie FAQ regarding this (as the first post in this thread is dated 2006)?  Thanks for any help.  I'm pretty good at seeding my torrents and want them to count.

Tim

Yes.  I've read the FAQ and tried to understand what I could.  (Sorry, I understand so much technical stuff.)  Any how, I logged in and out, and then changed my passkey and redownloaded the torrent.  As per the first outdated thread, I turned off DHT and Peer Exchange.  I'm currently seeding it, but there is no active torrent shown.  Could you please point me to a basic thread that might solve this?

What settings should I turn on or off?  Again, sorry for the newbie questions.  I'm on another site (anirena) and my torrent uploads seem to register easily, so I would like to know what to do to make this site work for me as this one seems to have better torrents.

Thanks,

Tim

Edit:  Okay, it's showing up now.  Don't know why.  I restarted utorrent (which I never really do) and two of my torrents showed up.  However, the ratios aren't showing up, but I guess that's a matter of time?  Sorry to bother.  If I'm doing something wrong (with the DHT or Peer Exchange), please let me know.  (Hahaha... I don't even know what they are or what it does.)
