This is terrible...
[...]and an assassin is already triggered? or is the assassin killing without knowing it?
Okay, I don't understand this part, either. I thought that
unless the assassin got attacked, he/she will not retaliate. It would not make sense that the Nun, a sleeper role, was able to target anyone since the Paladin is not reported dead. The only conclusion that I could make is:
3. A hit list is randomized at the beginning of the game which determines which assassination contracts are to be given to an assassin.
[...]I just randomized the hitlist for the Assassins...
In other words, (1+?) Assassin(s?) was(were) given contract(s) before the game started... This is bad. If the Assassin is really on a neutral path, he/she better be not accepting the friggin' contract blindly.
[...]if a shapshifter kills, the death will not be announced immediately, but one day later instead, so the nun definitely was not killed by a shapeshifter.
That sounds about right. Then:
-Assassin#1 was given contract (see above for my reasoning) before the game started, and randomly attacked
Meomix.
-Shapeshifter assumed
SeventyX7's identity (Assassin#2) before the game started (60% chance - succeeded), and had him randomly attacked
Dex_Belle.
-Demon possessed Vigilante, tried to target someone randomly, and got
SeventyX7.

Analysis:
=======
1. Two Assassins. One skillfully killed the victim = Assassin#1 &
Meomix. Another just brutally stabbed the victim like a Serial Killer (and Tiffany said that the Shapeshifter is replacing the Serial Killer) = Assassin#2:
SeventyX7 &
Dex_Belle.
2. The reason why the victim of the Shapeshifter was announced is because that victim was killed; killed by the Vigilante.
3. The Demon couldn't possibly possessed
SeventyX7 because the "Killer Strikes" most likely points to the Shapeshifter. And:
I really can't fathom how it makes more sense that a vigilante would shoot someone seemingly at random before the game even began than an assassin was activated and the demon took possession over the vigilante instead.
4. Paladin watched over someone (Populace/Killers) who wasn't possessed, nor an undead.
The flaw in my theory is: What happened to the Mad Scientist? I thought every player who were given a specific role (exception: sleeper) cannot opt to skip their turn. Since the Scientist does not know who dies, he/she cannot resurrect anyone yet. Then, what?
Anyway the shapeshifter seems to be out of the game which is pretty good. Gonna hold off on the vote for now.
We cannot be so sure; we'll have to see the next news. Though, I agree with you that we should abstain from voting:
Is it allowable if all players abstain from voting on Day 1? (Given that, with the exception of Round 3, the first to be lynched is always an innocent)
Unless it's against the rule?
Took me a long while to post. -_-
