There are some films where this is true but fortunately they're rarer these days.

I certainly didn't like those old paper ones, but they don't look too bad now. I actually haven't seen a 3D movie since Sharkboy and Lavagirl (wow that's almost 10 years ago) so I have no idea what it's like now.
