About to watch Guardians of the Galaxy...  In 3D.

There are some films where this is true but fortunately they're rarer these days.

I certainly didn't like those old paper ones, but they don't look too bad now. I actually haven't seen a 3D movie since Sharkboy and Lavagirl (wow that's almost 10 years ago) so I have no idea what it's like now.

Shrek 4D was my first and last 3D experience. Not bad, but by the end of it I had a headache and queasy stomach. This was about ten years ago.
I've also got a game here called "Limbo" that is supposedly 3D capable, but there's no option in the menu and the fucking indie game has no manual. How do I try it in 3D?

Yes I'm positive it has 3D, or else the box wouldn't say so and supply 3D glasses.

Last game that advertised itself as 3D that I played was Duke Nukem.

You need a 120Hz TV for 3D to work IIRC. Perhaps it just hides the option if it can't detect one.

As for me... I've only seen a few 3D films over the years (Spy Kids 3D, some 3D film thing at Legoland, and most recently Silent Hill (Which was shit btw, as you probably expect)), but every time I've never quite been able to tell if they're actually in 3D and it's just a really subtle effect, or if my eyes are just playing tricks on me. It certainly doesn't seem big enough to be worth all the hype, or the extra expense.

I am not sure if I understand, but it's always your eyes playing tricks on you. The movie is played on a surface.

Yeah, I could have phrased that better. What I mean is, I can't really tell if it's actually in 3D or not. Which probably means there's not really any difference.

Actually, I think more likely it's that I can see the 3D effect if I look in just the right way, but not otherwise, or something. I have a squint, which has always made things like that pretty difficult.

Yeahhh ... the movie was so-so. I liked the part when the female was blown in space, still kept in one piece, and yet the guy tried to save her and after all that he was okay ........

I find my eyes take a while to get used to 3d and by that time half the film is over. Maybe if they went back to playing shorts beforehand I'd be okay.

My ex was half blind in one eye and so couldn't see 3d effects in films at all.

Not if it's stereoscopic 3D, and I have a 120Hz TV anyway. I use it as my main monitor. I think I'll go check some forums.
Edit: WTF, my isp recons I used 3.7GB today. Bullshit, I've only uploaded a 80Mb file, done some minimal surfing for information and been on IRC...
