With most movies, 3D wouldn't add anything worthwhile to the experience IMO, but Avatar was worth seeing in 3D -- the visuals alone made up for the crappy story -- and Gravity was absolutely breathtaking in 3D.
It took an hour to write; I figured it'd take an hour to read.

Just bought a bottle of Ron Zacapa rum. Aged 23 years, reputable as one of the best rum in the world. Going to pop it open later today when some good friends come over. Tonight I was very exclusive when handing out invitations... for obvious reasons.

Also a friend mine will take with him 12 year old Yamazaki Whisky. Now I was sceptical at first, like "WTF??? Japanese whisky? What do they know about making one?", but holy shit, was I surprised. It is really up there with expensive Scotch brands.
For one thing, Tiff is not on any level what I would call a typical American.  She's not what I would consider a typical person.  I don't know any other genius geneticist anime-fan martial artist marksman model-level beauties, do you?

It's a beautiful film, best seen in the theater.  But since that's probably not an option now, I'd suggest watching it on a large screen TV if you can.  Like any film, it has its flaws and inaccuracies, but they didn't detract from my enjoyment of the movie.

Yeah, I considered going to the cinema but its about £9 a ticket here and I'm very reluctant to hand that sort of money over for a film.

Maybe I'll wait until Mat decided to buy himself a new tv and watch then.

You think? It was one of the first things I tried after arriving in Japan, since you can buy it in pretty much every convenience store here, and I was very unimpressed. But maybe the ageing makes all the difference; I'm guessing the stuff you can pick up in your local Family Mart isn't twelve years old.

Yeah, tell me about it. Was in Hamburg for a week and bought local beer over there called Holsten. It was ok as every day beer, then on evening we ordered beer in a pub and it was great. We asked what it was and the bartender said it was Holsten. We tried to disagree saying that we drank Holstein already and it was totally different. That is when we learned that what we got there was Holsten Edel ("Noble") which is way different from the cheap piss you get in Aldi and Lidl (exact words of the bartender)

Same experience with Tuborg produced in Norway vs Tuborg produced in Denmark. And don't get me started on the different types of Havana Club Rum.

Is that the one with Sandra Bullock and George Clooney? If so, I watched that months ago and I wasn't very impressed. It was okay but that was about it. There was only like 5 minutes of Clooney in the entire movie which was pretty disappointing.

+20

Visuals in Avatar even in normal; mode were incredible, 3D only added to it an incredible experience, especially the flora in the night with all that glow. Gravity is also great, rarely you get to see something like that.
It's not a bad end if it's not School Days style : )

Guardians of the Galaxy in 3D wasn't as bad. It was alright in 3D.

I saw Guardians last night too. It was pretty gr8 m8 I'd r8 8/8. No seriously it's the best film in that franchise so far thanks to nonstop hilarity and having a sum total of maybe 10 minutes where it takes itself seriously.

The glass on the left is happy to serve beer, the one on the right is sad, because it can't serve beer :)
