Those are completely different from the others you linked... those are cell shading.

soft shading works very well with visual novels, it gives it that book feel to it.
where as hard shading works better in certain animations, although both soft and hard works either way.

hard shading looks too much like magazines or poster ads.

Are any of you any good at cell shading? I'm just kind of bungling around here... Here's where I'm at, at the moment... nsfw

I'm sure someone else could probably do better shading. Soft shading is a lot easier for me in terms of actually pulling it off since it's easier to visualize, albeit a massive pain in the ass actually doing it. Most of the times it seems the shaded colors with cell shading are almost arbitrarily placed... >_<

lol, I definitely don't think the shading looks good atm...

In regards to clothes... That's easier said than done. I'll have to actually design the outfit before I make it, and proper wrinkles in clothing are a real bitch.

I'll probably make a baseball uniform first since that's the only one I actually included for sure but that's even more work because not only do I have to design the uniform but I have to come up with a team name as well

Why can't we include multiple? As far as my knowledge of VNs goes, there's more characters than just the protagonist...

because it'd end up taking ages to even release it?
making it with few characters in the beginning can hasten the progress.
you could always add characters in installments, like any other story out there.
