nay nay, the look on his face. It looks like he is forcing a smile and is squinting his eyes.

Nah.  I just always have really squinty eyes.

They're usually hidden by my glasses, but that's normal for me.

I have that effect on people.

To be honest, I don't even know.

EDIT: And allow me to possibly add more confusion in the ranks with my favorite picture I've found of me so far.

Also, its REALLY CREEPY.
Yeah, this. Belove, don't take this the wrong way but there are two ways to say what you said.
You could just have given a normal compliment, which would be the appropriate thing to do for someone you just saw on the internet and don't even know personally. You could even throw some humor into it, people won't mind.
And then there's the kind of thing you wrote, which is definitely going to seem creepy and unwelcome to someone under these circumstances. Even if this wasn't the internet, you probably don't want to be so vocal about your feelings when you meet someone for the first time. It's good to be sincere but for fuck's sake use some tact.
Hey froody1911 and kurandoinu!
Thanks for the perspectives.  Froody, by "don't take this the wrong way," I think you are asserting that you're sharing your perspective and not judging me?  I appreciate that.

As to Nodame-chan's name, it was a typo.  I knew her name when I typed it.  I would have pronounced it right in person.  My bad, but hopefully not a fatal flaw.

Of course, I appreciate that people take things different ways.  I certainly disagree -- based on decades of personal experience -- with how people usually take things.

I'm outspoken about my feelings (which tend to the positive) and actually it doesn't come off as creepy (almost never).  I get along very well with people.  I think that some people at younger ages are less comfortable with hearing direct stuff...  A simple compliment like mine might elicit or arouse various responses -- especially in a younger person (anywhere from " :D " to "thanks!" to fine with it, to "he's just flattering me", to "omg he loves me", to "hentai!!!", etc.).  But honestly, I feel kind of silly discussing my simple comment with everyone here except Nodame-chan.

She either appreciated it, REALLY appreciated it, didn't, didn't care, thought, "eww, creepy" or something else.  For me it's more important to tell my truth than to worry too much about how other's might take me.  But people generally take me just fine anyway.

I feel a little bad about all the discussion on my comment existing.  It sits better on its own.  It was all I had to say, and I won't now deny its truth, and I won't apologize to someone other than Nodame-chan about it, if indeed she didn't like it.

Also I will clarify a couple points that may help put this in perspective for you.  I spoke to her as directly as I did in part for these two particular reasons: (1) she was getting some rude comments, and I took offense myself.   (2) I took a surprising comment from someone seriously; someone who said she was 39.  If she is, she looks like she could pass for 20.  You know, a mature age, but very youthful.  More like what her profile says, which I guess maybe is the case (21).  Not that looking 39 is a bad thing -- neither is looking 5, 10, 30 or 100.  I said I was about the same age.. that may not be the case; I'm 40!

I might not have been as outspoken if I wasn't so shocked that she was getting such rude comments when I had the impression I had, which I've now repeatedly stated.  Also, the age thing -- if she was 39, I wouldn't have to worry about how she would take it in almost all circumstances.  Really.  Trust me.

Also, looking beautiful is good.  Beauty comes from so much more than our skin or our clothes or our make-up.  It comes from inside... only so much can be seen in a still-shot.  This one communicated some of her beauty as a person to my mind as well as the kind of beauty one can see with a more superficial purview.

When I said "I'm about the same age," I meant I'm 40.  So maybe this will help you understand my context better.  Sure, some teenagers might feel creeped out by a stranger telling them they're beautiful (though not necessarily).  Much less as you get older.

Anyway, I don't feel like talking on and on about something I said to one person with everyone else.  if Nodame-chan has something to say to me, I hope she'll say it.  Beautiful is a good thing.

I don't take offense to all this discourse, but I would rather drop the subject with others than Nodame-chan, who I was addressing.  It's now been a bit noisy for her -- perhaps -- if she otherwise would have chimed in anyway.

Peace~

I have this thing (I don't quite live it) about fashion where in my dream world, everyone would basically dress "inside-out".  I love cosplay...

By inside-out I mean kind of like "heart on a sleeve" for literal fashion.  Of course, most people are more private about their inner world than that, and it would require an affordable market for custom clothing/costumes or everyone skilled at and wanting to do their own.  Dressing as characters we like is cool too.  I have had some run into some people in cosplay (possibly as aspects of their true selves) in "the wild"..  I mean this isn't totally extraordinary, but had an awesome meeting one time at an airport with a girl and her 3-ish year-old daughter in an over-the-top lovely costume.

I've never been to a con.

I will put it to rest... she is beautiful and she is mine~ ;D

Don't take the other here too seriously though. You just need to have fun with it because they just like to play.

Careful for the double posts though. ;)

So today I decided to put together a small collection of my favourite photos from my trip across Japan back at the end of March. Since people liked the pics I posted of Takehara back then, I figured I'd post these ones here for you guys too. It's only 39 photos out of around 500, but...

Enjoy. :)

Thanks! I'm actually going back to Takehara, Hiroshima, and Miyajima in just over a week, and I feel like my photography skills have improved since I was last there, so hopefully I'll have some more photos to add to the collection fairly soon :)

Lol. At least get her name right
That's why she stayed away from the forums.. not really
Seriously, people?

If a single letter typo in my confession upsets anyone, I think that's a bit dramatic, especially for third-parties.  If anyone's feelings were actually hurt by me, that's regrettable.  Tell me and I'll apologize.

But if no one takes my confessions seriously -- I'd think that would be likelier to keep me away from the forums than someone who I've admired?!

I'm a very sincere guy.  Any other impression is mistaken.
My personal veracity is one of the most important values I hold in life.

edit: csoo54 I do see some fine print in your reply :) ~~so maybe I read you wrong the first time.

Yes I'm serious. If you were to flatter a lady in real life then get her name wrong it wouldn't go down very well. Also, its REALLY CREEPY.
creepy is the way of most on the internet thats why its a vicious cycle for most they stay on interwebs too much dont talk to real people then are way to blunt and creepy when they see a lovely lady and bam rinse and repeat

Kuran looking cute ^^

I've been meaning to ask, Supai. When did you cut your hair? That pic on the mountain would have looked majestic as fuck with your erstwhile mane.
