Returning & Introduction Thread

I guess this comes a bit late in more than one way. I've been a member for almost four years and used the site for maybe 6 months before that (unless my memory totally fails me, which wouldn't be too surprising). Uploaded over 1,1TB with crappy ADSL with upload speeds ranging from 256kb/s to 1,2Mb/s. I've been poking around the forums for a little while now and started lurking here a bit before that.
Years ago when I first tried registering on the forums I never got the e-mail with the activation link and I didn't feel like troubling the staff/going through the trouble doing anything about it. Somehow I managed to enable my forum account from my profile at some point (even that didn't work for a long time). I think it was right after that when I took a one year break from anything anime related. There was no reason for it; it just sort of happened and now I've started watching anime again etc.
So I guess I'm, umm, back?
About me... I'm just some random fool with no life. I live far too close to the North Pole for my liking. I'm basically a hikikomori and I've been like that for over 3 years now. The reason? Social phobia, for which I've just recently sought help. One of the reasons I started posting here was to have at least some kind of interaction with other people. My social skills are non-existent and I'm over conscious about anything I say so that's why my posts may seem awkward at times.
Actually, I can travel forward in time and skipping a whole day is no problem at all. I can either sleep past it taking consecutive 1-2h naps or just lie about or sit in a chair doing absolutely nothing and soon it's a new day. I feel like I've leapt several years of my life without having achieved anything. How's that for an amazing super power... Where do I apply to join the SOS brigade?
Sorry about any grammatical errors there might be - I'd like my English to be more fluent. I hope I can one day learn Japanese and other languages too but right now I really can't get motivated to self-study a new language. I also wish I had been more serious about school; I feel like I've wasted 6 years of studying Swedish and 4 years of German since I can't really remember anything about either language :(. So, I guess I must be into linguistics or something. Even when I (briefly) studied IT in a university the only thing I found interesting was programming.
So that's another big ass post by me. I wish there were stats for average post length and such ;).
As an unrelated note I just heard about Welcome to the NHK and somehow I really want to see it...

No need for grammar nazi's to get involved...post looked error free to me. I studied about 4 years of German as well...you won't hear me speak it, but I can follow a conversation just fine. Traveling to the country of origin is the best way to learn a language to a fluent level. Maybe someday...
