what's the best way of watching this show now that Taka has become completely unreliable?  I tried Crunchyroll once and found the picture quality and subs to be worse than Taka.  I'm at a loss.

Just started watching Naruto again this past week, last I watched was the Konoha battle with Naruto and Pain.{awesome}  And now I'm all caught up and came here to see if the last few eps {223+} are fillers, and sure enough they are....blah

Even more blah though will be the Killer Bee training I'll have to endure, especially if he trains Naruto through rapping...ugh  Guess its time to take another 6-10 month break and wait for another mass of episodes...

Yeah, Taka is the only way to go these days, ever since the Naruto surge has been capped by Viz. I'm surprised (and thankful) that they've survived the whole thing. I wait until the season torrents come out here and watch them then. I used to use Horriblesubs and then archive with Taka, but it made me too angry to watch, haha.

Anyways, I can't wait to watch Danzou get pwned by Sasuke, and, after this whole nasty filler business

Aw, FUCKING TELL ME ABOUT IT. Dammit, I always forget that exists (probably because I repress all memories of it) until it comes up in the show again. They fucked up the Pein fight so badly, I wasn't sure if I should rage, laugh, or cry, but I did all three eventually, and maybe even at the same time. I hope they don't ever do that again. The animation is okay as long as they don't do shit like this:

Seriously... what the hell? Did they all get wasted the night before and then go "OH SHIT GUISE!! WE HAVE TO DRAW THAT NARUTO EPISODE ASDLFKJASD;FASD;ASD LOL"

shitty anime's don't affect me at all other than maybe annoyance.  naruto is the only anime that i've cheered out loud twice while watching alone.  there also have been a few moments that made me feel some other emotions.  shitty anime's aren't good enough to do that.

Haha, tell me about it. I've decided to watch shounen anime sparingly. See, some got into Naruto, some got into Bleach, some One Piece, some all three or combinations of them. The only reason I (or probably 85% of people) are still watching shounen anime like Naruto are because they got into them when they were 12 (as is my case) and have been following them for years now. It's like loyalty and nostalgia. When shounen anime first come out, they are usually pretty awesome. I've watched some of Fairy Tail. It's pretty cool, people love it. Naruto captivated audiences when it first hit the TV/Internet as well. It was truly amazing to my 12-year-old self. But what inevitably happens, and I'm sure will unfortunately happen to Fairy Tail as well, is they eventually just get terrible, to be honest. Whether it's fillers, flashbacks, continuity errors, over-poweredness, repetition, etc. Shounen anime will have any of the aforementioned problems, and they usually become terrible to anyone who's not a die-hard fan. By the time they get out of the terrible and into the awesome (which Naruto has done in the manga and is on the brink in the anime), nobody else will watch them because 1. You have to have kept up with the series to know anything that's going on, and 2. They've heard so much about it and seen the terrible already that they don't want to have anything to do with it. So this is the issue with the long, tiring Shounen genre. /rant

So why not just skip the filler?  problem mostly solved.  Anyway, the Hinata episode during the Naruto/Pain fight was A+ anime.  I don't care how old you are.  That was a masterpiece episode.  Naruto can still bring it every now and then.

Dude are you kidding? Filler is half the experience of a Shounen anime. I'm not saying I don't like Naruto, I'm saying it's far from being great, because it's a shounen. My rant was on shounen in general, not just Naruto.  And yes, I agree, except for the bullshit with the 6 Tails mode and the terrible animation. Naruto brings it a lot, and I don't know if you read the manga, but if you do you know that it's about to bring it like a boss in the anime. What's to come is awesomeness, plain and simple.

I think they did that animation style to give the viewer a more detailed account of exactly how fast the two actually were, not because of poor animation quality. The more you know.

In the anime right before the filler starts before naruto sets out to lightning, Sakura says something like "if naruto and sasuke were both injured/dying after their fight, who would I heal first?"
This bothered me, considering sasuke tried to kill her twice & she's been warming up to naruto all this time.

That part is not in the manga though, which for me means its really not part of the real story, I just wish they wouldn't have added that in there. The rest of the added content not found in the manga (lots of convos between the characters) just before this filler started was good and fit into the story, that one part bugged me though :)
