hmm, first ever anime i saw was sailor moon when i use to live back in new york, it used to show real early in the morning.

i wish my first was something old school and obscure. unfortunately, it was Akira on sci-fi channel which everyone has seen a million times. I watched 15 minutes of it and thought it was pretty cool, but then changed the channel. Don't know why I did that. I later saw Fatal Fury 2 on sci-fi, but I did watch the entire thing and liked it.

p.s. anyone with a home theater sound system that is dts capable NEEDS to buy the Akira DTS dvd. It'll blow your mind!!!

This will be my first post here, first anime i saw was Uchuu Kaizoku Captain Harlock, watched it in the early 90's when i didnt have many channels. Along with that i remember samurai pizza cats, tank police, patlabor, dragonball, and many others i wish i could ID and find now.

Impossible to tell. I may have seen anime when I was an infant and thus don't remember now. Therefore I think I am the only one to answer honestly here.

Can't remember for sure but think it was Starzinger dubbed in Swedish. Might also have been a Formula 1 anime which I can't remember the name of. Saw that when I where maybe 7-8 years old. After that I didn't watch any anime until college, the first anime I watched after that 10 year gap where Mononoke Hime which had just been released.

I don't know actually since I don't know the names of the first few series I saw, was a lil bit younger back then.
Apart from those, it's either Sailor Moon or Pokemon. Way later came Dragonball and I really started watching anime with Elfen Lied.

yohoo, well guess il start writeing somwhere so why not here. Anyway the first anime i saw without knowing about anime would have been Hello! Sandybell well dubbed ofc to swedish when i was around 5-7 year's old. The first anime i watched knowing it was anime must have been the movie ghost in the shell, when i was around 15-16 i simply watnted to see it sence it was anime and it seemed like a cool movie. But i dont think i rly understood it hehe, and the first serie i started watching was cowboy bebop, but i only saw 1-2 episodes and didnt watch it untill a few year's after that, but the first serie i saw complely was evangelion.

I think the first known-for-sure anime I watched was the Slayers series. The history was weird, in the early 90s I somehow came across MP3 files named "Get Along" and "Give a Reason" and proceeded to find where those songs came from in hopes of more like it. I then found an realmedia episode shortly after and was hooked there on. I think the second one was Fushigi Yuugi when my sister sent me a copy, I'm not sure I really liked that one.

I guess I Ilike funny ones, need a good laugh sometimes...

(I guess I watched a few eps of Voltron well before that, but didn't really like it. I guess I didn't "really" watch it, it's pretty much "new" to me still...)

First was probably alfred Jodocus Kwak (Ahiru no Kuwakku, didnt know it was an anime 'till recently...).
The first one I downloaded was Girls Bravo.

Sailor Moon on TV, I think I was around ten. I was so afraid to miss even a single ep, used to set up alarm clock to wake up and watch SM.
Much later, when I got PC and internet connection I saw GITS Stand alone Complex, didn't leave strong impression, and some time later I watched Elfen Lied, that would be the start of my anime rampage

I must say that unless TMNT counts as Anime my first would have to be Sailor Moon (( oh and I'm a guy too... )) after that would be Pokemon followed shortly with Akira, Outlaw Star, and Evangelion. Watched the last three series listed in that order one after the other and people wonder why I say that Sanity isn't all that it's cracked up to be...

although a couple of weeks later I got into Gasaraki. heheh
